The "Seed of Life" was a civilization alliance renowned for its longevity and genetic technologies. As a carbon-based civilization that had cultivated the field of life for many years, its genetic weapons were also quite famous. The "Life Flower Seeds" were one such weapon. They were a "living" genetic weapon with a powerful ability to search for carbon-based lifeforms: locate, spread, and destroy.
This was originally a devastating weapon designed to deal with the "bugs." Because of the bugs' microscopic nature, combined with their use of advanced spatial technology, it was extremely difficult to detect their armies in advance. The "Life Flower Seeds" had been developed specifically for this situation and sent to the front lines.
But whether the Allied forces had simply been terribly unlucky or the bugs had planned it all along, this "genetic weapon" was intercepted halfway there. After devouring it, the bugs evolved an extremely abnormal ability to track lifeforms. The once-mighty Allied forces were immediately torn to shreds, while large numbers of logistical planets and subspace supply stations were ambushed. This created enormous difficulties for combat operations on the front lines.
It was under these circumstances that Chuck arrived at this underground terraformed planet, "Infiltrator-5."
His luck was fairly decent. He had arrived just before the bugs' next wave of raids on logistical supplies. He had heard that the next batch of troop transports had been eaten clean by the bugs.
After being transported here, Chuck was assigned to Workshop H1-413 at the planetary core. This repair workshop used the heat energy of the planetary core to repair and maintain damaged star armor.
Chuck had rarely worked in such a "difficult" environment. The workshop's outer area was not only scorching hot and highly radioactive, but also filled with the noisy glug, glug of bubbling hot
