Ever since the faction found a territory of its own and began following the "faction construction" route, mechanics had become the favored class of the version.
And not just the favored class of one version, either. The "Horned Whale Era," the "Interstellar Infrastructure Era," the "Planetary Black Market Era," the "Interstellar War Era," the "Alpha Construction Era," the "First Mechanical Project Era"...
By that count, it had been six damn major versions already!

Couldn't your version update or something?
If someone hadn't understood the players' tempers well enough to unlock the "Biocomputer Exchange," the "New Radiation Bloodline Exchange," and, most recently, the "Abnormal Gate" transformation,
the carbon-based players would have been ready to revolt.
Especially the recent "Abnormal Gate," which allowed carbon-based and mechanical players to switch automatically. Large numbers of carbon-based players had followed the principle of "if you can't beat them, join them," changing careers on the spot and becoming rookie mechanics.
This prompted many players from other systems to complain that the lousy faction might as well be renamed the "Mechanic Legion."
Those carbon-based players who had resolutely abandoned the mechanic route despite the temptation of the "Abnormal Gate" generally had reasons they simply couldn't give up.
The biggest reason, for example, was the formidable destructive power brought by three carbon-based fusions.
As for the players from "Immortal Energy Star," they had taken carbon-based fusion to an entirely new level.
"Ruins Chef" was one of them.
As a member of the guerrilla forces operating behind enemy lines, he was currently fighting a small squad of "Virus Machines."
In theory, players of the same level couldn't defeat NPCs of the same level, but players who had undergone three fusions were outside that theory.
Especially the former Corpse King
