As the teasing words rang out, the surrounding space began to fold, nest, and twist, forming countless honeycomb-like holes. Each hole pulsed, giving off a low, hungry hum that wasn't truly a sound, like some kind of deformed cancerous growth.
In the next instant, the "personification of the cancerous growth" became a plump noblewoman. Gravity transformed into a long dress and shawl around her, while the cosmic holes became her pores. Countless insectoids seemed to crawl within them.
"Lady Ba Ren!"
Little Scarlet immediately lowered her head in greeting.
The noblewoman smiled and pinched her little cheek. Little Scarlet could even feel the bristles on the woman's hand, as well as the incomparably dense power of ascension.
"What a fine universe. In the main universe, even if I cancerized an entire galaxy, ascended civilizations would come meddling. But now, the feeling of swallowing an entire galaxy cluster is wonderful."
The noblewoman licked her lips. The tip of her tongue was purple, and the depths of her mouth seemed like a black hole.
"You have a good mother."
Lady Ba Ren turned to look at the Blade Queen.
"What brings you here? Aren't you waging war across the stars? How many ascended civilizations did you provoke this time?"
"Ten," the Blade Queen said coldly.
"Waging war against ten tier-four civilizations at once—that certainly suits your style. But that makes it even stranger. According to your
