High Engineer took a deep breath. The dense energy and information streams of the Cosmic Great Wall surged into his perception, faintly colliding and blending with the twenty lingering auras of civilization destruction on his body, producing a strange, heart-pounding resonance.
To be honest, this was High Engineer's first time in the Cosmic Great Wall. But the moment he entered, he immediately understood why those level-nine civilizations treated this region as the main battlefield against the Three Great Calamities.
The reason was not complicated. The spatial and energy fluctuations here were terrifyingly high. Even an ordinary area within it possessed an energy level comparable to a star's core.
Such a region could naturally resist the Invisible Empire's "invisible force." That power, capable of dissolving even the outline of the universe, would inevitably face tremendous resistance here.
It was not only High Engineer. The other civilization leaders also looked around with astonishment.
If the universe was a whole organism, galaxies were its cells, and the Cosmic Great Wall was the thickest bundle of nerves or main blood vessel connecting its major organs and regions, then immense amounts of matter and energy converged and flowed through it.
"Do you miss this place?" the Ancient Guardian suddenly asked with a smile.
"Your old man was driven out. What's there to miss?" Old Mechanical Gear said coldly.
"Are you not going to visit a few of those old fellows? After all, they probably still don't know that you successfully ascended."
"They're mostly willing to see you, but certainly not me. Much less help us. Those old geezers were unwilling to join even the Civilization Council. If a fight really breaks out, whether they help us or those fellows manipulating the 'Primordial Mechanical Mark' is anyone's guess."
The Ancient Guardian shook his head and said
