Engineer Gao slept so deeply that he lost all sense of day and night. Ever since the Cyber Tide began, he had barely closed his eyes. Even when his physical body incarnated as an S-rank continent, his consciousness remained in the information sea, constantly deducing the final battle.
There was no helping it. Cosmic relics and civilization-level disasters were things only advanced civilizations had the right to touch. Even with the experience of his previous life, he still had to operate with extreme caution. One careless mistake, and he would be finished—and so would his faction.
Fortunately, it was finally over. Engineer Gao could finally get a good night's sleep.
He was awakened by the noise outside.
He raised his head and saw Director Du looking out the window. He was still lying on Du Zhaodi's thighs, but the two of them were no longer on the deck. They were in the cockpit.
"You're awake," Du Zhaodi said with a gentle smile.
Engineer Gao exhaled and looked outside. A constant rumble echoed beyond the window—the roar of mecha engines. Mecha kept landing on the deck, and familiar faces climbed out of their cockpits: General Quill, Little Woman, Qin Zhenzi, Doctor Rong, Huang Wen, Daisila, Matsushima Keiko, Tamil, Apu, Sun Tu, Coldblood, and many others.
Outside the starship, even more high-grade mecha hovered in the air. As far as the eye could see, the sky was packed with them.
All these people had been released from the safe houses.
"Everyone wants to see you."
Engineer Gao rose, and Du Zhaodi carefully straightened his collar. He reached back and took her hand. The memory-metal wall before them melted automatically, transforming into steps. He climbed upward, and the sun in the sky was exceptionally dazzling. Even the atmosphere seemed to have recovered somewhat.
