Background

Du Zhaodi grew up loving machines and dismantling them, but came to resent the feeling of being controlled by them. She later reconciled this conflict, concluding that she did not hate machines at all: she was “born to master machines.” 189

She first appears as the Factory's supervisor during an inspection of Gasoline Town. When Gao Gong offers technology capable of controlling Radiation Beasts, she recognizes its strategic value and offers to take him away by private jet if necessary. 65 68

As a newly appointed Mechanical Commissioner, Du Zhaodi personally presents the New Biological Warfare Act before the Mechanical Committee. Despite opposition from bio-corporation-backed commissioners, the bill passes and she secures the Proposer Protection Clause. 119

Her connection with machinery progresses from remote control of machines to identification with an entire industrial system. During this period, she seeks to become the Machine Will, creates a large AI bearing her own name, and becomes a central force behind the faction's industrial expansion. 175 195 667

Appearance

Du Zhaodi normally has a porcelain-like oval face, fair skin, rough palms, and short neck-length hair tied into a neat ponytail. She commonly wears practical white work clothing with rolled sleeves, reflecting her engineering background. 119 1333

  • Her usual clothing includes a white work uniform, high-waisted pants, and a white T-shirt. 119 1333
  • Her white-haired form has waist-length “hair” composed of quantized neural synapses rather than ordinary strands. 1346
  • Her white-haired form's dark eyes contain a metastable Vacuum Decay quantum-state weapon. 1340 1346
  • The completed Mechanical Cage forms close-fitting mechanical outer armor over her body from chest to heels. 1346
  • Mech Clan observers perceive her synthetic skin, internal components, and movements as exceptionally elegant machine aesthetics. 629

Personality

Du Zhaodi is calm, restrained, and highly professional. She keeps a clear distinction between work and personal feelings, including during her initially distant interactions with Zhao Xie and her early dealings with Gao Gong. 65 68

She is an engineering-minded leader who finds genuine excitement in mechanical augmentation, industrial construction, production blueprints, and new technologies. Her interest in machinery can eclipse almost everything else, including Gao Gong's attempts to attract her attention. 848 1347 1393

Her increasing mechanical evolution changes the way she thinks without fully erasing her humanity. She describes her newer mindset as more efficient, sharper, and closer to the essence of things, while Daisy La worries that Heluo Po's lingering consciousness is influencing her decisions. 1519

Abilities & Skills

Mechanical Affinity

Du Zhaodi possesses an exceptional innate bond with mechanical systems, reflected in her Daughter of Machines, Heart of Creation, and Mechanical Genius templates. 189

  • Can remotely control large numbers of machines and eventually function as an industrial kingdom herself. 667
  • Integrates with a Mechanical Hub strongly enough that all machinery on Fuqing Island becomes linked to her. 405
  • Creates the large-scale AI “Du Zhaodi,” causing ancient robots to converge and kneel before her. 195
  • Can direct highly efficient large-mecha production, further improved by an Accelerated Production domain. 668

Mechanical Cage and Quantum Body

Following her Eternal Life Transformation, Du Zhaodi combines Ascension Civilization technology with the Mechanical Cage. 1345 1347

  • Her quantized neural synapses can attack enemies across light-years. 1346
  • Her eyes contain Vacuum Decay in a stable quantum state, making them more dangerous than an uncontrolled Quantum Tide. 1346
  • Her Mechanical Cage armor grants the Mechanist Civilization the Third Mechanical Revolution — Mechanical Cage source-code buff. 1346
  • Heluo Po temporarily exploited her body to resurrect within the Information Cocoon, demonstrating the danger posed by incompatible consciousnesses and the Cage's altered functions. 1340

War Engine and Mecha Frenzy

Du Zhaodi develops civilization-scale War Engines and can employ Mecha Frenzy through the Mechanical Colossus. 1518 1549

  • Her War Engine is composed of layered Computation Matrices that continuously calculate and rewrite battlefield conditions. 1518
  • The Mechanical Colossus can transform and combine into a massive mecha under her Mecha Frenzy ability. 1549
  • Her Great Mechanical Will is formed from War Engines and follows a cold operational logic: detect, analyze, and reduce the target to basic particles. 1686
  • Personally activates the Mechanical Warfare-Farming Doctrine, treating stars as energy sources, planets as workshops, and life as programmable tactical resources. 1480

Death Domain

Du Zhaodi gains the Boss Panel of an Eternal Life User and the Ascension Authority of the Shihe Civilization. 1493

  • Creates a Death Domain with no stated time limit. 1493
  • Kills the Carrier Great Lord after pursuing it into a Space Transport Channel. 1493
  • Can isolate the Virus Data Abyss, though maintaining the Domain causes her to age. 1549
  • Uses the Domain and Heluo Po's inherited physical legacy to heavily wound a high-ranking Virus Archon. 1549

Mechanical Zerg Queen

Du Zhaodi becomes the supreme collective consciousness of a Mechanical Zerg swarm as the Mechanical Queen of Blades. 1857 1872

  • Mechanical Zerg units emerge from exponential incubation chambers, ranging from scout cutters to starship-scale Leviathans. 1857
  • Newly created units immediately join pre-calculated formations. 1857
  • The mechanical simulation preserves Zerg potential while granting troop production and evolution rates comparable to the true Zerg. 1857
  • The destruction of Hive units directly harms her as their collective consciousness node. 1872

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Mechanical Cage armor — A complete female mechanical outer armor formed from the transformed Civilization Tombstone and space-folding modules. 1346
