Background / History

Zhang Wushuang displayed unusual affinity with Spiritual Energy from early childhood. At three, she was already physically capable beyond ordinary children her age and attended elementary-school lessons with older children. Her cultivation aptitude was later confirmed to include a Spiritual Root, allowing her to inherit Zhao Siqi’s cultivation methods. 143 192

She began practicing under her mother, first using the Green Pine Qi Circulation Method, the introductory portion of the Zhao Clan’s Green Pine Great Evolution Scripture. Her strong comprehension of sword forms convinced Zhang Mingshu and Zhao Siqi that she needed a sect’s resources and instruction. 224

Wushuang and Zhao Siqi travelled discreetly to Daizong, where she passed the Illusionary Realm trial. Sect Master Chen Ershun accepted her as an Inner Disciple and assigned Elder Chen Biqiu as her master. 237 238

After awakening all Five Elements Spiritual Roots, Wushuang was promoted to a personal disciple and granted Daizong’s ancient Great Five Elements Heavenly Spirit Scripture. Her subsequent seclusion carried her to the Void Returning Realm. 437 473 611

Upon returning home, Wushuang chose to support the Zhang Family’s expansion rather than fully separate from it for a formal inner-sect elder position. Zhang Mingshu entrusted her with a family token and she assumed a leading role in the Five Lotus Mountain Range campaign. 612 613

Appearance

Wushuang is repeatedly described as refined and graceful, with an increasingly ethereal presence as her cultivation advances. Her appearance is often compared to an orchid or a fairy-like figure. 277 297 339

  • Long hair, often tied with a simple ribbon in childhood. 224
  • Clear eyes and a serious, determined expression while training. 224
  • Fair skin, distant-mountain brows, and autumn-water eyes. 297 339
  • Usually carries herself with light, nearly noiseless steps. 297
  • Wore a light green robe during the Fire Spiritual Root initiation. 419

Personality

Wushuang is diligent, sensible, and unusually self-disciplined from childhood. She practices beyond what is asked of her, records lessons and insights in a notebook, and treats cultivation as a long-term responsibility rather than a source of pride. 224 227 245

Though highly talented, she remains conscious of her shortcomings. Losing to Liu Hanyan in a minor competition and facing stronger enemies in the Fuding Sect Secret Realm both reinforced her resolve to improve rather than discouraging her. 277 344

She is calm under pressure and capable of making measured tactical decisions. During her confrontation with the Abyssal Wolf King, she recognized its attempt to feign weakness and tested it without overcommitting. 352

Family is central to Wushuang’s motivation. She ultimately chooses to return to the Zhang Family’s side, accepting political, military, and administrative responsibility alongside her pursuit of the Great Dao. 612 613 618
