Tyrel visited Blood Blade’s base and asked Valeera to investigate High Priest Galeel after he encountered him acting suspiciously. Valeera discovered Galeel had bought Bloodthorn, and Tyrel went to confront him as Galeel’s drug-induced visions returned to Liadrin’s decision to become a Paladin.

Ch. 185Exile

Dawn King Tyrel discovered Ranger Lord Hoxbyr and High Priest Galeel using prohibited Bloodthorn and exiled them according to Quel'Thalas's law. Stranded in the plague-ravaged Eastern Plaguelands, they were approached by Archmage Modan Shadowsong, who offered to take them to Kael'thas in Winterspring Valley to overcome their addiction.

  • Hoxbyr visited Galeel's manor and shared the prohibited Bloodthorn with him.

Jaina Proudmoore asked Tyrel to help stop her father, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, from waging war on the New Horde from Theramore. Tyrel agreed to try to persuade Daelin, leaving the conflict unresolved.

  • Archmage Modan Shadowsong told Tyrel that Jaina had arrived in Eversong City seeking help, and Valeera accompanied Tyrel through the portal.
  • Jaina told Tyrel that Admiral Daelin had seized control of Theramore and begun a war against the New Horde.
  • Jaina argued that Thrall's Horde wanted only a homeland and had recently been an ally against the Burning Legion.
  • Tyrel agreed to do his best to persuade Daelin to end the war.

Ch. 187Entanglements

Tyrel met with Admiral Daelin in Theramore and tried to arrange peace talks between Kul Tiras and the New Horde. Daelin agreed to meet Thrall on the Southern Barrens coast, while Jaina and Valeera waited tensely for news of Tyrel.

  • Admiral Daelin welcomed Tyrel and urged him to help defeat the Horde, but Tyrel said he had come to facilitate peace negotiations at Jaina’s invitation.
  • Daelin rejected peace because he still hated the Orcs and remembered Drek'Thar’s death, but he agreed to meet Thrall on the coast of the Southern Barrens.

  • The chapter recounted how Tyrel gave Jaina the Staff of Antonidas, which had once belonged to her mentor.
  • Tyrel returned and told Jaina and Valeera that Daelin was willing to meet Thrall.

Ch. 188Negotiations Break Down

Ch. 190The Strongest Guardian

  • Aegwynn recognized Flaming Strike and asked whether Tyrel belonged to Quel'Thalas's royal family, and Jaina identified him as Dawn King Tyrel Sunstrider.
  • Jaina recognized Aegwynn as her mentor Antonidas's famed former Guardian, and Aegwynn lowered her magic and apologized for attacking Tyrel after sensing his immense arcane power.
  • Tyrel remained wary because Aegwynn had detected the secret power within him, and he said Quel'Thalas would never forget her past actions before teleporting away.
  • Jaina apologized for Tyrel's rudeness and asked why he had acted so strangely, and Aegwynn said she would explain later.

Ch. 191The Vanished Magisters

Tyrel learned from High Magister Astalo that his uncle Nalorath and many powerful High Elf magisters had entered the Burning Legion’s realm to find a way to destroy demon souls, then lost contact with Quel’Thalas. Ch. 193Admiral Daelin's Defeat

Admiral Daelin faced defeat in Theramore after Jaina's betrayal crippled the Royal Navy, but Tyrel persuaded him to let part of the fleet retreat for Kul Tiras's sake. Daelin stayed behind and entrusted Tyrel with a message and heirloom for his family before Tyrel departed with the survivors.

  • Lord Ashvan and Daelin's royal guards urged him to escape aboard the Sea King, but Daelin refused to abandon the fight against the Horde.
  • Lord Ashvan warned Daelin that Kul Tiras would be left defenseless if its elite forces died, and Daelin asked him to return and tell Katherine that Tandred would become the new admiral.
  • Tyrel arrived and warned Daelin that the pirates might exploit a Royal Navy defeat to threaten Kul Tiras and its trade.
  • Daelin ordered part of the Royal Navy to retreat and gave Tyrel the Heart of the Kul Tiran Fleet for Katherine.

  • Tyrel learned from Rune Keeper Delia that the western rune stones had failed, promised to reactivate the Rune Guardians, and appointed Fenna to his personal guard.
  • Tyrel replenished the Faralis Rune Stone with Sunwell energy, then traveled with Delia to the abandoned rune stone in Scorched Valley.
  • Tyrel absorbed the fire elementals and ordered the Dawnblade Legion to put the frenzied treants to rest.
  • Tyrel used Turn Evil to purify the tortured soul of Whitebark, who agreed to be reborn and protect the woodland.

  • Detheroc offered to join forces with Garithos against Saloren Sunstrider, but Garithos refused to let the demon control him again.

Ch. 199Overlord of the Plague Lands

Garithos rebuilt his Undead forces in Thal'kiel and ordered Thul to send Gnolls against Tirisfal Glades. Seeking soldiers strong enough to challenge the Awakened Death Knights, he agreed to consider recruiting Arugal's Worgen, though Desolace doubted Garithos could persuade Arugal to submit.

  • Thul told Garithos that Silverpine Forest held many Gnolls, and Garithos insisted on being called the Overlord of the Plague Lands before ordering Thul to send them against Tirisfal Glades.
  • Desolace returned to Thal'kiel, where tens of thousands of Undead had gathered, and Garithos said he needed stronger or more numerous troops to face the Awakened Death Knights.
