Ch. 386Battle of Zul'Aman (VII)

Tyrel pressed into Zul'Aman and confronted Witch Doctor Malakkras, who revealed that he had empowered Trolls with Loa Spirits and invoked Blood God Hakkar. Their clash left the fighters below suffering from the collision of their blood-based powers, while Tyrel still needed to break through and stop Zul'jin.

  • Tyrel fought the Amani Trolls with swordsmanship alone and called on Zul'jin to face him.
  • Witch Doctor Malakkras revealed that he had learned to infuse Trolls with Loa Spirits and claimed the Amani had their own power.
  • Tyrel reignited Flaming Strike and challenged Malakkras, who invoked Blood God Hakkar's power.
  • Malakkras formed a blood arrow, and Tyrel countered it with Blood-red Holy Light.
  • The two crimson powers collided, raining blood over both armies and leaving unprotected Amani Trolls in agony.

Ch. 387Battle of Zul'Aman (VIII)

Zul'jin drew on the power of four Loa Spirits and Blood God Hakkar to battle Tyrel, but the elven king defeated him. Hakkar's plague then consumed Zul'Aman, forcing Tyrel and the Blood Elves to withdraw.

  • The Bear God warned Zul'jin against using Hakkar's power, but Zul'jin summoned the four Loa Spirits after learning that Egilson and Gaya'le had fallen.
  • Tyrel told Zul'jin that the Amani Trolls and Quel'Thalas could not coexist, and the four Loa Spirits poured their power into Zul'jin.
  • Zul'jin accepted Hakkar's blessing and attacked Tyrel with the Fist of the Gods, but Tyrel countered with arcane power and Holy Light.
  • Tyrel defeated Zul'jin, who died declaring that the Amani Trolls would never perish.
  • Hakkar's Corrupted Blood Plague spread through Zul'Aman, and Tyrel withdrew with the Blood Elves to avoid infection.

Ch. 388Dawnblade

Tirion Fordring and Eitrigg prepared Light's Hope Chapel for a Scourge assault led by Uther Darkbringer. Tirion raised Dawnblade, whose Heart of Wrath strengthened the Argent Dawn as the enemy advanced.

  • Eitrigg told Tirion that the Amani Trolls had attacked the Blood Elves, keeping the Dawn King from joining the Eastern Plaguelands fighting.
  • Eitrigg recalled how he had joined the Argent Dawn after his duties watching Rend Blackhand ended, and Tirion appointed him a high-ranking commander.
  • The Argent Dawn sounded the alarm as Scourge forces approached Light's Hope Chapel with Frost Dragons, Gargoyles, and Stratholme Death Knights.
  • Tirion recognized Uther Darkbringer leading the Scourge and raised Dawnblade, which Tyrel had gifted him with the Heart of Wrath set into its blade.
  • The Heart of Wrath's red light bolstered the Argent Dawn warriors' morale and combat strength.

Ch. 389Lady of Whispers

Tirion strengthened the Argent Dawn with Tyrel’s gifts and rallied its warriors at Light’s Hope Chapel as Uther’s Scourge army attacked. The defenders’ firepower devastated the Undead, but Lady of Whispers extinguished their flames with the Frost Dragon’s icy essence.

  • Tirion reflected on Tyrel’s gifts and their mentor-disciple bond as the Heart of Wrath’s blessing greatly empowered the Argent Dawn, especially its Paladins.
  • Tirion rallied the Argent Dawn warriors, while Uther ordered the Death Knights of Stratholme to charge Light’s Hope Chapel.
  • The chapel’s archers, cannons, ballistae, Dwarven gunners, Blood Elf Magisters, and Gryphon Riders battered the advancing Undead and set them ablaze.
  • Uther ordered Lady of Whispers to deal with the flames, and she used a Frost Dragon’s icy essence to extinguish them and freeze the ground.

Ch. 390Hammer and Sword

The Scourge attacked Light's Hope Chapel, where Duke Kael'thas broke through the gates and led the Death Knights against the Argent Dawn. Maxwell Tyrosus and the veteran Paladins held back the assault, and Maxwell confronted his former comrade Kael'thas.

  • After the sea of fire faded, the Scourge's Meat Wagons resumed bombarding Light's Hope Chapel.
  • Duke Kael'thas summoned a flaming meteor that smashed open the chapel gates, then led the Death Knights inside.
  • The Death Knights overwhelmed the Argent Dawn's warriors, whose fallen comrades were raised as undead to fight them.
  • Maxwell Tyrosus warned the warriors not to face the Death Knights head-on, and veteran Paladins used Holy Light-blessed warhammers to drive them back.
  • Duke Kael'thas recognized Maxwell, and Maxwell mourned the old friend who had become an accomplice to evil.

Ch. 391Dawn and Darkness

The Scourge broke through Light's Hope Chapel's defenses as Uther Darkbringer confronted Tirion in a clash between Darkbringer and Dawnblade. Their battle left both armies devastated, and the outcome remained uncertain.

  • The Death Knights overwhelmed the Argent Dawn as Nerubians burrowed through Light's Hope Chapel's walls, allowing the Scourge to pour inside.
  • Uther Darkbringer arrived on his resurrected warhorse and used Darkbringer's black energy to drain and raise Argent Dawn warriors as Undead.
  • Tirion confronted Uther and declared that the king he served had betrayed the kingdom he once protected.
  • Uther fired a powerful Death Coil at Tirion, but fragments of a Naaru in Tirion's armor formed a Holy Light shield that absorbed it.
  • Uther and Tirion charged and clashed with Darkbringer and Dawnblade; the resulting blasts killed nearby combatants and brought down both warhorses.
  • The two Lord Commanders continued fighting on foot, while the battle's outcome remained undecided.

Ch. 392Draenei Defender Force

Tirion’s Argent Dawn was on the verge of defeat at Light’s Hope Chapel while Uther’s Scourge overwhelmed its defenders. Maraad and more than ten thousand Draenei Defenders arrived, purged most of the Undead in the chapel, and restored Tirion’s strength, leaving the Argent Dawn poised to counterattack.

  • Uther said the Scourge had delayed the Scarlet Crusade and Blood Elves, leaving the Argent Dawn without reinforcements as the Undead pressed into Light’s Hope Chapel.
  • Eitrigg and the remaining Argent Dawn warriors defended the chapel’s final line while Tirion fought the advancing Undead and Uther watched him weaken.
  • Tirion told Uther that he had forgotten the power of the Holy Light as a voice sounded from above and beams of Holy Light descended.
  • More than ten thousand Draenei Defenders arrived through the Holy Light beams and burned seventy percent of the Undead in the chapel to ash.
  • Maraad greeted Tirion, apologized for the delayed arrival, and joined the Argent Dawn as Tirion’s exhaustion disappeared.

Ch. 393Oath of the Holy Swords

Cain ordered the Dawnblade Legion to attack Stratholme before Dawn King Tyrel and the rest of the reinforcements could arrive. With most of the Legion assembled at Quel'Rin, Cain rallied the Blood Elves and vowed to liberate the city.

  • Liadrin arrived at Northrend Watchtower and warned Cain that most of the Dawnblade Legion's reinforcements were delayed because Tyrel was fighting at Zul'Aman.
  • Cain overruled Liadrin's concerns and ordered the assault on Stratholme to begin immediately.
  • Mylah, Drath, and Fenna finished conquering Zul'Mashar and burned the settlement before gathering their troops in response to Cain's signal.
  • Seventy percent of the Dawnblade Legion assembled at Quel'Rin as Cain prepared to lead the assault.
  • Cain drew Quel'delar and Quel'Serrar, rallied the Blood Elves, and swore to defeat the Scourge and liberate Stratholme.

Ch. 394Cannot Lose Anyone Else

Cain’s forces attacked Stratholme, but he recognized that the city’s huge Undead population would make a direct assault devastating. He decided to infiltrate the city and eliminate its leaders himself, then reconsidered his willingness to die after Liadrin reminded him that Tyrel could not bear to lose more family.

  • Cain assigned Mylah and Drath to capture the two necropolises guarding Stratholme, and the Blood Knights quickly overwhelmed them.
  • Cain told Liadrin that Stratholme held nearly a million Undead and that its streets and buildings would make an assault costly.
  • Cain realized that killing the Undead leaders could leave the remaining Scourge trapped and leaderless inside the city.
  • Liadrin volunteered to enter Stratholme, but Cain insisted that he had to carry out the dangerous mission himself.
  • Cain ordered Liadrin to command the central army and attack Stratholme’s front while he entered the city.
  • Liadrin reminded Cain that Tyrel had already lost too much, and Cain promised to survive and remain at Tyrel’s side.
