Ch. 142Twilight of the Gods (9)

The Orcs, Rokhan, Rilas, and Cain fought the demons and Undead, with Cain drawn to Samuro’s deadly swordsmanship. Cain approached the last remaining Burning Blade Clan Blademaster of the New Horde to learn more about his style.

  • The Orc Warriors repeatedly charged Azgalor and Kaz'rogga despite their crude weapons and the demons' superior strength.
  • Rokhan approached Rilas, and the two agreed to compete in hunting demons and Undead with their bows.
  • Rokhan fired arrows infused with voodoo energy, and Rilas watched before joining the contest with Stars' Fury.
  • Cain used Blink and the Phoenix Twin Blades to kill demons while reflecting on the limits of his swordsmanship.
  • Cain recognized Samuro as a Blademaster whose lethal swordsmanship could help him improve, then approached him.

Ch. 143Twilight of the Gods (10)

The Kalimdor Allied Forces joined forces to slay Doom Lord Kaz'rogga, then hurried to help Broxigar the Red hold off Abyssal Lord Azgalor. They found Broxigar standing alone among the dead, with Azgalor nowhere in sight.

  • Thrall ordered Broxigar the Red and a squad of Orc veterans to hold back Abyssal Lord Azgalor while the others focused on Doom Lord Kaz'rogga.
  • Cairne Bloodhoof blocked Kaz'rogga's attack as Vol'jin, Varok Saurfang, Tyrel, and Thrall attacked him and helped keep Cairne fighting.
  • Tyrel and Thrall unleashed combined fire and lightning attacks that killed Kaz'rogga, leaving his Cataclysm Blade in a crater.
  • Thrall led the Horde reinforcements to support Broxigar, but they found the other Orc veterans dead and Broxigar alone beside a mountain of demon corpses.
  • The reinforcements found no sign of Azgalor, suggesting Broxigar and the fallen veterans had killed the Abyssal Lord.

Ch. 144Twilight of the Gods (11)

The Warsong wolf riders helped the Kalimdor Allied Forces hold the second line, while Rilas and Rokhan made peace after their contest. Archimonde arrived and devastated the defense, but Tyrel and his allies teleported the surviving warriors away as Archimonde advanced toward the Night Elves.

  • The Warsong Clan's wolf riders charged into battle and slaughtered demons and Undead at the second line of defense.
  • Rokhan accepted defeat in his contest with Rilas, and the two agreed to compete again over Darkspear cuisine and Elven Sunlight Brew.
  • Archimonde appeared and annihilated thousands of warriors, setting the second line of defense ablaze.
  • Broxigar defied Archimonde, and Thrall used shamanic power to drive the Horde warriors into a blood frenzy as they charged.
  • Tyrel, Astalo, and Tesseron coordinated with Jaina and the blue dragons to teleport the Kalimdor Allied Forces to safety.
  • Archimonde's fires consumed the second line of defense, and he marched toward the Night Elves' third line.

Ch. 145Twilight of the Gods (12)

Archimonde reached Nordrassil and drew on the Well of Eternity, but Malfurion’s plan summoned countless Wisps that overwhelmed him and triggered the Well’s explosion. Tyrel absorbed the Well’s remaining essence and learned it could be reborn, while the Blood Elves mourned and wondered what future remained for the Sin'dorei.

  • Archimonde destroyed the Night Elf alliance’s forces and reached World Tree Nordrassil, where he began absorbing the Well of Eternity’s power.
  • Tyrande found Malfurion on a mountain ridge and asked whether he had prepared his plan to stop Archimonde.
  • Malfurion blew Cenarius’s Horn, summoning countless Wisps that flew into Archimonde and disrupted the energy within him.
  • The Well of Eternity’s power erupted, vaporizing Archimonde and sending shockwaves across Mount Hyjal.
  • Tyrel sensed the Well’s cry, absorbed its remaining essence, and learned that its waters beneath Nordrassil could allow it to be reborn.
  • Nordrassil rapidly regrew, the Kalimdor Allied Forces celebrated Archimonde’s death, and the Blood Elves mourned the Well of Eternity.

Ch. 146Sindra's Archmage

Tyrel refused the Night Elves’ invitation to solve the Blood Elves’ Mana Addiction, then accepted Drasia Moonfang’s request to become a Paladin. When Mordant Shadow of Eversong City sought his help for the ancient High Elves, Tyrel revealed the miniature Sunwell within his soul and began purifying him.

  • Tyrel declined Drasia Moonfang’s invitation to discuss Mana Addiction, saying the Blood Elves would find their own solution.
  • Drasia asked Tyrel to teach her the way of the Paladin, and he warned that serving the Solar Holy Light meant severing her ties with Elune.
  • Tyrel baptized Drasia Moonfang with Solar Holy Light, making her a Night Elf Paladin of the Dawnblade Legion, and assigned Mylah to guide her.
  • Mordant Shadow, leader of the Sindra from Eversong City, asked Tyrel to save his ancient High Elf kin.
  • Tyrel removed the fel energy from Mordant Shadow and infused him with pure Sunwell energy, revealing that a miniature Sunwell resided within his soul.
  • Mordant Shadow recognized the energy as that of the Well of Eternity, then knelt and begged Tyrel to save the ancient High Elves.

Ch. 147Eversong City

Tyrel learned that the High Elves of Eversong City had used a demon’s fel energy to endure without the Well of Eternity, but Prince Toshedrin had gone mad and was slaughtering them. Tyrel brought the Dawnblade Legion to Eversong City, where he sent Rilas to rescue Illyana Darkwood and prepared to confront Toshedrin himself.

  • Modan Shadowsong told Tyrel that Prince Toshedrin had imprisoned a demon to supply fel energy, but the demonic power had corrupted Toshedrin and the demon was now killing Eversong City's people.
  • Tyrel vowed to save the Sindra High Elves and opened a portal from Kael'thas to Feralas, where Modan's mages were waiting at Lariss Pavilion.
  • Modan led Tyrel and the disguised Dawnblade Legion into Eversong City, an ancient High Elf city now ruled by Toshedrin's violent regime.
  • Estulan reported that Mayor Karedis was about to execute Illyana Darkwood for refusing to kill commoners, and Tyrel sent Rilas and the Dawnblade Rangers to rescue her.
  • Tyrel told Modan that he would confront Toshedrin directly to end his rule without making the Blood Elves fight their High Elf kin.

Ch. 148The Forward High Elf Beauty

Tyrel Sunstrider led the Dawnblade Legion into Eversong City to rescue Illyana Darkwood and publicly challenge Toshedrin. The chapter ended as Cain’s Spellblades attacked Toshedrin’s guards at the Throne of Sindra.

  • Tyrel rejected Modan Shadowsong’s plan to ambush Toshedrin in the library and chose to confront him at the Throne of Sindra.
  • Mayor Karedis threatened the commoners and prepared to execute Illyana Darkwood, but Rilas Windrunner and the Dawnblade Archers defeated the guards and freed her.
  • Illyana thanked Rilas and asked for his name, showing her interest in the warrior who had rescued her.
  • Karedis reported the invasion to Toshedrin, and Tyrel followed him to the Throne of Sindra with the Dawnblade Legion.
  • Toshedrin ordered his guards to attack, and Cain led the Spellblades as they struck the High Elf Warriors and interrupted the Mages’ spells.

Ch. 149King of Sindra

Tyrel Sunstrider challenged King Toshedrin for the throne of Sindra and defeated him after channeling the power of the past Sunstrider kings through Flaming Strike. Tyrel proclaimed himself the new King of Sindra and vowed to protect its people.

  • Tyrel challenged Toshedrin for the crown, and Toshedrin accepted the duel.
  • Tyrel used his Arcane Domain to dismantle Toshedrin’s magical attack, then fought him with Flaming Strike.
  • Toshedrin’s superior swordsmanship gave him the advantage until Tyrel drew on the power of the past Sunstrider kings.
  • Tyrel melted Toshedrin’s twin swords and struck him down; Toshedrin regained clarity and asked Tyrel to protect Sindra’s people.
  • Tyrel declared himself King of Sindra, and the fel-corrupted guards regained their senses.

Ch. 150Dawnlight Well

After Toshedrin's defeat, Tyrel freed Demon Immol'thar and replaced its energy with power from the Sunwell. With Drasia Moonfang and the mages' help, he created the Dawnlight Well as a new magical source for Eversong City.

  • Archmage Modan and Illyana Darkwood imprisoned Toshedrin's loyalists, while the Dawnblade Legion began protecting Eversong City.
  • Tyrel ordered Demon Immol'thar released, and Magister Astalo opened its binding barrier without breaking the remaining restraints.
  • Tyrel used Flaming Strike, Holy Light, and fire to end Demon Immol'thar's suffering, leaving Eversong City's Arcane Weave without its former power source.
  • Drasia Moonfang proposed creating a new magical well with the Sunwell essence within Tyrel.
  • Tyrel, Drasia Moonfang, Magister Astalo, Tesseron, and Archmage Modan filled the new well with Sunwell essence and Solar Holy Light, creating the Dawnlight Well.

Ch. 151Sas'aral's Rebirth

Tyrel created the Dawnlight Well and planted Sarsala’s seed in it, restoring the High Elves’ strength and helping ease their Mana Addiction. After Eversong City was rebuilt and its people swore loyalty to Tyrel, General Shandris Moonfeather suspected the High Elves had made a pact with the Burning Legion.

  • The Dawnlight Well filled Eversong City with arcane energy and Solar Holy Light, exciting Archmage Modan Shadowsong and the Blood Elves.
  • Tyrel sensed Sarsala’s seed longing for the Dawnlight Well and planted it there, where it rapidly grew into a great tree that replenished the High Elves and soothed Mana Addiction.
  • Tyrel called for Eversong City to be restored, and Magisters Astalo and Tesseron and Archmage Modan led the magical rebuilding effort.
  • The High Elves rebuilt Eversong City overnight in Quel'Thalas’s crimson-and-gold style and swore loyalty to their new King of Sindra.
  • After hearing that Eversong City had been rebuilt and was radiating powerful Arcane Energy, General Shandris Moonfeather suspected its High Elves had joined the Burning Legion for a new source of magic.

Ch. 152Deep-Rooted Contamination

Tyrel reunited with Kael'thas after creating the Dawnlight Well, which gave the Sin'dorei a new source of magic and hope for restoring the Sunwell. Kael'thas revealed that Necrotic Magic still contaminated the Sunwell and could kill the Sin'dorei if it was awakened, leaving the brothers to prioritize their people's survival.

  • Rommath arrived in Eversong City, sensed the Dawnlight Well's Sunwell-like energy, and agreed to report the news to Silvermoon City.
  • Rommath told Tyrel that Kael'thas had led the Sunfury Legion to aid the Alliance against the Scourge, and Tyrel asked him to bring Kael'thas to Eversong City.
  • Kael'thas arrived, and Tyrel embraced him before explaining that he had absorbed the Well of Eternity's essence and believed he could awaken the Sunwell.
  • Kael'thas warned Tyrel that Necrotic Magic remained hidden in the Sunwell and would use its power to kill the Sin'dorei if the Sunwell were awakened without purification.
  • Kael'thas urged Tyrel to move the elderly and children to Eversong City so their people could survive with the Dawnlight Well's magic.

Ch. 153Ranger-General of Eversong City

Tyrel decided that Quel'Thalas might need to relocate to Feralas if the Sunwell's necrotic corruption could not be stopped, and Cain and Rilas agreed to reclaim the land. He appointed Rilas Ranger-General of Eversong City and Illyana Darkwood Ranger Lord, then sent them to lead a mixed Blood Elf and High Elf force into Feralas.

  • Tyrel shared his plan to prepare Feralas as a possible new homeland with Cain and Rilas, and both brothers supported the claim.

  • Rilas and Illyana led the new Blood Elf and High Elf ranger force out of Eversong City and into Feralas.

Ch. 154Moon Goddess and Stars

Rilas and Illyana confronted Shandris Moonfeather and the Night Elf Sentinels as they entered Feralas, with both sides accusing the other of threatening their people. When Shandris and Rilas fired arrows infused with the power of Elune and arcane energy, their forces collided and exploded in a massive shockwave.

  • A High Elf ancestral spirit warned Rilas about Night Elf Sentinels, and Illyana identified Moonfeather Fortress on Sardor Isle as their likely base.
  • Shandris led the Sentinels from the Forgotten Coast toward Eversong City and found defensive fortifications on the slope into Feralas.
  • Rilas confronted Shandris, while Illyana emerged and demanded that the Sentinels leave High Elf territory.
  • Shandris ordered the Sentinels to execute Rilas and Illyana, but hidden Blood Elf and High Elf Rangers aimed their bows at them from the high ground.
  • Shandris invoked Elune's power and fired at the fortifications as Rilas charged Stars' Fury and released an arcane arrow.
  • Shandris's Moon Goddess's Arrow and Rilas's Stars' Arrow collided, and their energies exploded into a shockwave that began collapsing the rock beneath them.

Ch. 155The Second Quel'Thalas

Rilas and Shandris Moonfeather’s forces withdrew to establish rival fortresses on the western coast of Feralas, bringing conflict between the Night Elves and Tyrel’s people closer. Tyrel ordered his forces to secure Feralas and prepare it as a new home for the Blood Elves and High Elves.

  • After the explosion, Rilas warned Illyana that Shandris Moonfeather would attack again, while Shandris led the Night Elf sentinels back to the Forgotten Coast.
  • Shandris ordered Keleseth to report to the High Priestess in Ashenvale and establish a camp west of Feralas, then began building Moonfeather Fortress on the coast.
  • Rilas sent word to Eversong City and began constructing Windrunner Fortress overlooking the Night Elf position.
  • Tyrel recognized that conflict with the Night Elves was unavoidable and ordered Cain to seal the passage into northern Feralas.
  • Tyrel ordered Mylah to secure the Isildur Ruins as a new home for his people and Alex Frostwind to drive the Gnolls from eastern Feralas.

Ch. 158Bloodblade Valeera

Valeera Sangunar, now a high-ranking member of the Assassin's Alliance, learned that Garithos had imprisoned Kael'thas and the Blood Elves and planned to execute them. She led the Alliance's Blood Elf rogues in leaving the organization so they could try to save their king.

  • Valeera trained across the human kingdoms, joined the Assassin's Alliance, and learned that the Scourge had invaded Quel'Thalas.
  • Valeera returned to Quel'Thalas in disguise and watched Tyrel fight Arthas, then returned to the Assassin's Alliance without revealing herself.
  • Valeera read intelligence that Garithos had imprisoned Kael'thas and the Blood Elves and would soon execute them.
  • Valeera ordered messages sent to surviving Alliance kingdoms asking them to stop Garithos.
  • Valeera gathered Blood Elf members of the Assassin's Alliance and urged them to rescue Kael'thas, warning that leaving the organization would make them hunted.
  • The Blood Elf rogues agreed to leave the Assassin's Alliance and follow Valeera.

Ch. 159Elves Living in Seclusion in Feralas

Alex Frostwind struggled to plan an attack against the Clawfang Gnolls until a captured Night Elf asked him to heal his sick wife. After treating Sarasil, Alex sent her to Eversong City to restore her failing life force.

  • Alex Frostwind and Serin Fireheart discussed how the Dawnblade Legion’s ten thousand troops could defeat the vastly more numerous Clawfang Gnolls without burning Feralas’s forests.
  • Blood Elf Rangers brought Alex a white-haired Night Elf, who explained that he lived in seclusion and needed help for his ill wife.
  • Alex agreed to treat the Night Elf’s wife and followed him to a hidden valley where Sarasil lay gravely ill.
  • Alex used Cleanse and the Holy Light to ease Sarasil’s illness, but explained that only the Dawnlight Well and Sarsala in Eversong City could restore her lost life force.
  • Alex ordered Serin to escort Sarasil to Eversong City.

Ch. 160Garrith Shadowsong

Alex revealed that Garrad was Garrith Shadowsong and asked him to help with the Clawfang Gnolls and Moonfeather Fortress. After the Dawnblade Legion purified Blackmist Ruins, Garrad proposed using a large Ogre clan to provoke the Gnolls into fighting them.

  • Alex recognized the secluded Night Elf as Garrith Shadowsong and promised that Sarasil would not be used as a puppet.
  • Alex asked Garrad to help resolve the threats posed by the Clawfang Gnolls and Moonfeather Fortress, and Garrad agreed to deal with the Gnolls first.
  • Alex, Garrad, and the Dawnblade Legion reached Blackmist Ruins, where the Paladins dispersed the black mist and laid the High Elf ghosts to rest.
  • Garrad explained that the Dawnblade Legion faced far more Gnolls than it could defeat in a direct assault and reported that a large Ogre clan had arrived in eastern Feralas.
  • Alex proposed provoking the Clawfang Gnolls and Ogres to attack each other, and Garrad approved the strategy.

Ch. 161Set the Tiger Against the Wolf

  • The Clawfang Gnolls and Gordunni Ogres began a brutal battle in eastern Feralas.

Ch. 162Kirin Tor's Betrayal

After Valeera returned and told Tyrel that Phoenix King Kael'thas had been captured, Tyrel assembled the Blood Elf and High Elf forces to rescue him. The army reached the Alterac Mountains, where they learned Vareesa and the Kirin Tor had refused to help, leaving Tyrel to prepare to confront the betrayal and save his brother.

  • Valeera reunited with Tyrel and told him that the Phoenix King had been seized in Dalaran, so Tyrel ordered Cain to gather the Dawnblade Legion and Sindra.
  • Garrith Shadowsong offered to defend against Moonfeather Fortress, allowing Tyrel's forces to leave, and Blood Elf and High Elf mages opened a portal to the Alterac Mountains.
  • Valeera received no support from the Assassin's Alliance or Stromgarde, while Lord Commander Fostad of the Wildhammer Dwarves offered aid.
  • Rilas asked why Vareesa was absent, and Valeera and Saren Weaver told him that Vareesa had married Rhonin and joined the Kirin Tor in refusing to help Kael'thas.
  • Astalo condemned the Kirin Tor, and Tyrel vowed to remember those who abandoned the elves as tens of thousands of troops crossed the portal.

Ch. 163Saving the Phoenix King

Kael'thas and the Blood Elves were imprisoned in Dalaran by Garithos, but Vashj freed them. Outside the prison, Tyrel attacked the Lordaeron Restoration Army after it refused to release Kael'thas, leaving the battle underway.

  • Kael'thas regretted ignoring his father Anastarian's warning and worried that the imprisoned Blood Elves would succumb to their thirst for magic.
  • Vashj killed the guards, destroyed the anti-magic prison, and freed Kael'thas and the Blood Elves.
  • Kael'thas warned Vashj that Garithos's much larger army left them with nowhere to escape.
  • Tyrel arrived with the Dawnblade Legion and Sindra and demanded that the Lordaeron Restoration Army release Kael'thas.
  • After the humans refused and fired arrows at him, Tyrel used Flaming Strike to incinerate their fortifications and soldiers, then ordered his forces to slay all who resisted.
