Ch. 164Assault on the Violet Hold

Tyrel led the Blood Elves to the Violet Hold to rescue Kael'thas and their imprisoned kin, fighting through Garithos's forces and killing the warden Cassein. Inside, they found Lady Vashj had already freed the prisoners, and Kael'thas asked everyone to leave the prison before discussing matters.

  • Human and Dwarven forces guarded the Violet Hold, where Cassein refused to let Tyrel and the Blood Elves pass despite believing them innocent.
  • Tyrel defeated Cassein, and Rilas, Cain, Valeera, Mylah, Astalo, Tesseron, Modan, and the others killed the remaining defenders.
  • Tyrel melted the Violet Hold's magical barrier with Flaming Strike and led the Blood Elves through the gates.
  • Tyrel and his companions encountered Kael'thas and the freed Blood Elf prisoners, whom Lady Vashj had rescued.
  • Lady Vashj asked about Flaming Strike, and Kael'thas suggested they leave the prison to talk outside.

Ch. 165Southshore

Kael'thas agreed to join Illidan in Outland to seek Well of Eternity water that could restore the elves' source of magic, while Tyrel led the Dawnblade Legion and Sindra toward The Hinterlands. At Southshore, Tyrel sought out Alexandros Mograine and was recognized by Reno.

  • Kael'thas told Tyrel he would travel to Outland with Lady Vashj to seek water from the Well of Eternity and help restore the Sunwell.

  • Tyrel said he had come to visit Alexandros Mograine, and Reno recognized him.

Ch. 166Ashbringer

In Southshore, Tyrel reconciled with Alexandros Mograine and learned that a Holy Light Crystal had been used to forge a powerful new sword. Alexandros named it Ashbringer and planned to gather the old members of the Silver Hand in Hearthglen to fight the Scourge.

  • Reno Mograine joyfully greeted Tyrel, and Tyrel defended him when Alexandros rebuked him for using an informal address.
  • Alexandros apologized for Garithos’s actions, and Tyrel said he still believed humans could remain allies against the Scourge.
  • Alexandros showed Tyrel a sword forged by King Magni Bronzebeard and explained that its Holy Light Crystal had been purified from a Shadow Crystal taken from an Orc Warlock.
  • Tyrel revealed that Flaming Strike held a similar crystal, and the two crystals resonated as Tyrel and Alexandros concluded they might have come from Draenor.
  • Alexandros took up the newly forged sword and told Tyrel he would go to Hearthglen to gather former members of the Silver Hand into a new force against the Scourge.
  • Alexandros named the sword Ashbringer, declaring it would turn the Scourge’s undead to ashes.

Ch. 167Anveena

Tyrel followed a bloodlike connection to a farm near Tarren Mill, where he discovered Anveena was another incarnation of the Sunwell. After transforming her into a Blood Elf, he took her in as his sister and named her Princess of Quel'Thalas.

  • Tyrel sensed a familiar connection and led the elven force north from Southshore to Tarren Mill.
  • Tyrel and High Magister Astalo detected and broke through a magical barrier around a small farm.
  • Valeera spoke with Anveena Tege, and Tyrel recognized her as the source of the connection when he touched her.

  • Tyrel told Anveena she was his sister and named her Anveena Sunstrider, Princess of Quel'Thalas.

Ch. 168Aerie Peak

Tyrel and the elves arrived at Aerie Peak, where Lord Commander Fostad warmly welcomed them and the Wildhammer Dwarves honored their past ties with the Quel'dorei. Tyrel relieved the Blood Elves’ Mana Addiction with the Sunwell’s energy, then joined Fostad for a drinking contest that ended with Fostad collapsing beneath the table.

  • Lord Commander Fostad welcomed Tyrel and the elves to Aerie Peak, and Tyrel thanked the Wildhammer Dwarves for caring for Blood Elf children.
  • Tyrel noticed that the Blood Elves in Aerie Peak suffered from Mana Addiction because their Arcane Crystals had run out, while the children had been spared.
  • Tyrel asked Anveena to ease the Blood Elves’ craving, and she filled Aerie Peak with pure Arcane Energy from the Sunwell.
  • Lord Commander Fostad invited Tyrel to drink Wildhammer Firewater, and Valeera elbowed Rilas after Tyrel realized Rilas had boasted about his drinking ability.
  • Tyrel drank cup after cup as the Solar Holy Light evaporated the alcohol in his body, until Fostad finally collapsed beneath the table.

Ch. 169Return to Silvermoon City

Tyrel returned to Silvermoon City after securing an agreement with Lord Commander Fostad to fight the Scourge alongside the Wildhammer Dwarves. Sylvanas welcomed him, and he learned that Quel'Thalas had been rebuilt but still faced mana shortages and undead attacks.

  • Rilas celebrated outdrinking Lord Commander Fostad, but Valeera knocked him down with another Kidney Shot.
  • Tyrel and Fostad agreed that the Blood Elves and Wildhammer Dwarves would unite against the Scourge, and Tyrel returned through a portal to Silvermoon City.
  • Sylvanas welcomed Tyrel and embraced Rilas, then learned that he had become the Ranger-General of Eversong City.
  • Ranger Lord Lothar told Tyrel that Silvermoon City's reconstruction was nearly complete, the Scar of Death remained unrepaired, and Arcane Crystals were being consumed rapidly.
  • Lothar reported that the Farstriders had reclaimed several outposts, while undead in the Scar of Death continued attacking the city.

Ch. 170Bloodrazor Spear

Tyrel purified the Scar of Death through Silvermoon City with Flaming Strike’s Phoenix Flames, allowing the city to be restored. The Dawnblade Legion then began reclaiming Eversong Woods with newly forged Bloodrazor Spears, while Liadrin befriended the Night Elf Paladin Drasia Moonfang.

Ch. 172Evil Sword

Tyrel welcomed his undead sister Luminas back to Quel'Thalas, but Saloren refused Varimathras's demand that the Blood Elf Undead join the Doomguards. With war looming, Saloren set out to find the Nathrezim artifact Apocalypse, the only weapon said to be capable of killing the Doomguards.

  • Tyrel told Luminas that Quel'Thalas would welcome her and the other Blood Elf Undead back, and she returned to Brill with news that he had found a way to replace the Sunwell.
  • Varimathras arrived in Brill and tried to recruit Saloren into the Doomguards' new order, but Saloren refused and vowed to defend his people.
  • Varimathras threatened the Blood Elf Undead and left, while Veronaara grew angry and Saloren warned that a fight against the Doomguards would be difficult.
  • Saloren put Veronaara in charge of Brill and rode away to seek Apocalypse, the demonic sword forged by the Nathrezim that could kill Doomguards.

  • Desolace fled into the mountains, and the Blood Elves, Awakened Undead, and Crusaders captured the Undead Bastion and divided the surviving forces.

Ch. 178The Snubbed Envoy

Calia declined to meet Alexandros, so Alonsus Faol represented the Awakened Undead and confirmed that some Undead had gained free will while others remained under the Lich King's control. When Alexandros planned to seek Alliance reinforcements, Alonsus objected; meanwhile, Stormwind's King Varian left the Crusaders' envoy waiting without agreeing to receive him.

  • Calia refused Tyrel's offer to meet Alexandros, and Alonsus Faol met the Crusader leader in her place.
  • Alexandros recognized his former mentor Alonsus, who explained that the plague had awakened him and that some Undead, including Uther and Gavinrad, still served the Lich King.
  • Alexandros decided to inform Stormwind City and request reinforcements, but Alonsus said he disagreed.
  • A Crusader envoy arrived in Stormwind City to seek Alliance aid, and Bolvar Fordragon told King Varian about the Crusaders replacing Garithos's forces.
  • Varian ordered Bolvar to handle the request, and the envoy was lodged at Stormwind's Cathedral of Light without being granted an audience.

Ch. 179Underground City Sewers

Calia revealed the Underground City Sewers as a hidden route into Lordaeron, and Tyrel led the Blood Elves through them to bypass a costly frontal assault. Ch. 181Sin'dorei Sword Saint

Cain defeated Doom Lord Balnazzar with a combination of swordsmanship, arcane magic, and deception, sending the demon’s soul back to the Twisting Nether. Afterward, Tyrel asked about Cain’s newly revealed Arcane Sword, and Cain’s victory earned him the title of Sin'dorei Sword Saint.

  • Cain fought Balnazzar with the Dragonforged Blades, wounding him with Arcane Slash before using flames and frost to burn and freeze his demonic claws.
  • Balnazzar cast Domination and Mind Shriek, but Cain resisted the control and used clones to evade Shadow Burst and confuse his opponent.
  • Cain concealed an Arcane Sword inside a clone, pierced Balnazzar from behind, and killed him with a Frostfire Whirlwind, sending his soul back to the Twisting Nether.
  • Tyrel congratulated Cain and asked when he had mastered the Arcane Sword, while Cain explained that he had worked to keep pace with Tyrel and Rilas.
  • Cain’s victory established him as the Sin'dorei Sword Saint and affirmed his standing as Quel'Thalas's foremost Spellblade.

  • Rommath told Tyrel that Illidan and Kael'thas had nearly killed the Lich King in Northrend but ultimately failed.
  • Rommath gave Tyrel the red Ata'mal Crystal, the Heart of Wrath, and Tyrel learned that only seven crystals had existed and the others were lost.
