Background and History

Early life and the Life Simulator

Lin Heng began as a five-year-old human with weak health and a lifespan of seventy years. His Talent, Past Life Wisdom, awakened memories from a previous life and allowed his attributes to inherit the higher values of either life 1.

He received the Life Simulator, which creates worlds that are both real and illusory. Survival and accomplishment within each simulated life yield rewards that can improve his actual existence 1. Lin Heng later learned that simulated Worldlines collapse upon his death, while the transformations gained by his True Spirit can return to reality 185.

Before his earliest simulation, he used Reset Attributes to maximize Family Background, Charm, and Comprehension at the expense of Physique and Fortune. The resulting poor constitution left him with the negative traits Sign of Early Death and Alchemy Furnace Explosion 2.

Li Hen Pavilion and Cloud Sword Palace

In his first simulated life, Lin Heng was an impoverished, malnourished child living with the old beggar Old Lin. The human trafficker Wu Chou abducted him and sold him to Li Hen Pavilion for sixty taels of silver 3 55.

Li Hen Pavilion intended to raise him as a Cauldron for its female elders. He was placed in a Blood Pool and forced to absorb Tiger Wolf Medicine, which depleted his Essence and left him near death 3 5.

Cloud Sword Palace disciples Zhang Yuan and Qu Yang discovered him after the sect attacked the Li Hen Pavilion estate. Xiao Rang saved Lin Heng by expelling the toxins, though the medicine had already taken more than half of his lifespan 4. Recognizing his Innate All Meridians Open physique and exceptional talent, Xiao Rang accepted him as a direct disciple 4 5.

Lin Heng formally became Cloud Sword Palace's Young Sect Master during his Master Acknowledgment Ceremony. Xiao Rang gave him the Clear Cloud Sword and publicly designated him as the likely future inheritor of the sect 13.

Rise to Number One Under Heaven

Cloud Sword Palace supplied Lin Heng with vast resources, including Spirit Rice, Heaven and Earth Treasures, Essence Pills, and direct instruction from Xiao Rang 6 19. Lin Heng repaid that support with relentless cultivation, rapidly progressing through the Grandmaster and Great Grandmaster Realms.

His rise provoked Li Hen Pavilion and allied evil factions to establish the Kill Heng Society, whose purpose was to assassinate him before he became an Invincible Expert 21 27. Their efforts ultimately failed.

After creating the Boundless Sea Divine Art, Lin Heng became powerful enough to dominate the conflict among Lan Continent's major factions 33. He defeated over fifty thousand Demonic Heretics, including numerous Great Grandmasters, in seventeen seconds and compelled Heavenly Star Valley and Ice Frost City to become Cloud Sword Palace's vassals 70.

His victory made Cloud Sword Palace the strongest legacy beneath heaven and earth. Lin Heng was thereafter recognized as the Number One Expert Under Heaven 41.

Pure Yang and Martial God inheritances

During later simulations, Lin Heng awakened the Azurewood Spirit Body and was recognized by the plants and spirits of Lanzhou as a Child of Nature. While observing Lanzhou as a shattered divine sword, he was struck by an ancient sword intent and nearly died 54.

The sword intent led him to the Pure Yang Sword Saint's Legacy. Lin Heng eventually comprehended and defeated the inherited Sword Emperor Intent within his Sea of Consciousness, forming his own Sword Emperor Intent 57 64.

After entering the Pure Yang Blessed Land, he encountered Yu Ling at the Ascension Immortal Pool. Yu Ling accepted him as a disciple on behalf of her master, True Lord Qing Lan, and granted him access to the Martial God Sect's inheritance 101 115.

He eventually transformed his Dao Body into an Immortal Body, gaining physical immortality and beginning the transformation of his Primordial Spirit into an Immortal Soul 182.
