Soren stood atop the Wizard Tower, overlooking all of Port Nyanzaru. The stars in the night sky had grown increasingly dim.

The Gods' power had waned severely. Most deities had already fallen into the mortal world, and after initially hiding with great care, some had begun to appear before mortals. The Halfling Pantheon had relocated to the Shire region, the Lord of Radiance had secured control of the south, the Spider Queen had united the drow of the Underdark, and the Elven Pantheon had now gathered together.

One thing was clear.

As the Time of Troubles intensified, the Gods all felt a profound unease.

Soren silently watched the city beneath his feet. Port Nyanzaru was quiet at night, its streets empty of pedestrians. Only the faint glow of Magic Crystal Lamps remained, with patrols passing through at regular intervals.

The devils could find no openings here.

"Still awake?"

Accompanied by a faint, delicate fragrance, the Fallen Witch appeared behind Soren.

Soren did not turn around. Instead, he said softly, "Ever since I ascended to godhood, I haven't needed sleep. I only keep sleeping out of habit."

The Fallen Witch said nothing.

She simply walked over to stand beside Soren and said softly, "You seem a little lost."

The Fallen Witch continued without pausing. "I can feel it. You're making a very important decision! One that could change the entire world!"

"You're hesitating."

"It seems you know what changes your decision will bring! That makes you uneasy and uncertain!"

"This is the first time I've seen that expression on your face."

"You know?"

"I'm very curious about what you're planning! But I know I shouldn't ask. Still, I'll wait patiently for the day you tell me!"
