Hundreds of thousands of demons marched across the Wastes of Despair in a vast, surging host.
Their sheer numbers terrified the native inhabitants of the Wastes of Despair, who thought the demons had abandoned the Blood War and now intended to conquer this plane.
Fortunately, the demons did not attack the natives. They simply kept advancing, gradually approaching the Blood River.
The demon army was so enormous that once it began moving in earnest, concealing it from others was all but impossible. The first to notice something amiss was the Goddess of Misfortune, Beshaba. Her God's Realm lay in the [Sea of Blood] in the Abyss, and the Blood River in the Wastes of Despair and Destruction was one of its entrances. Once the vast demon army gathered, a glimmer of the radiance of divinity appeared above the Blood River. Then a beautiful woman wearing a veil and a dark red robe appeared over the river. With her snow-white toes exposed, she gazed toward the demon army ahead. Something seemed to occur to her, making her frown.
This was the Lady of Doom's Divine Servant.
She was also the Lady of Doom's avatar. Everything she could see now was equally clear to the Lady of Doom.
The demon army crossed the Blood River and soon reached a special entrance.
