Countless souls fluttered out.
These were all the mortals who had died since the outbreak of the Undead Scourge; it was impossible to give an exact number, but there were definitely tens of millions. Such a massive count was beyond statistical recording, with the Lord of Radiance taking away most of the kind souls among them, while the evil souls were judged. Yet this all had a limit; even a deity would not casually eradicate souls. Aside from these souls, there were even more of those hazy, ordinary human souls. These people possessed no obvious good or evil, having done both good and bad deeds during their lifetimes, and such people tended to be the most numerous in the mortal realm. These hazy souls gathered together in astonishing numbers, turning grayish-white under the light of the Lord of Radiance before slipping into the earth one by one.
The Material Plane also had a River Styx.
However, mortals could not see it, because the River Styx was in the deepest part of the Material Plane—a massive vortex that directly sucked in souls and carried them to other planes.
Under normal circumstances, when an ordinary person died and was buried in the earth, their soul would be swept into the River Styx, then pass through the Spirit Realm to reach the Netherworld. These souls imprisoned by Naram were now free, and the price was that Naram's strength plummeted rapidly, his aura soon becoming comparable to Kelemvor's, though still slightly stronger.
As early as when the Lord of Radiance appeared, the Lich Queen of the Githyanki had fled.
This ancient and immensely evil entity was so cautious that it was said, to prevent her status from being shaken, many Githyanki with class levels exceeding 11 would have their brains extracted and be controlled
