The new book connects with a part of Lord of the Abyss and also provides a certain amount of supplementation regarding the epilogue. The time span is roughly three hundred years after the outbreak of the Time of Troubles, but the story does not take place in the original universe; rather, it is a story that unfolds after a Floating City from the Arcane Empire period crosses through temporal-spatial turbulence and enters another Crystal Sphere System. This Floating City re-established the Supreme Arcane Council, and the protagonist of the new book is a malignancy within the Supreme Arcane Council, facing trial precisely for releasing a Godspawn.
Fututu's book-writing quality should generally still pass muster.
