These were the three pillars of godhood. Without all three, no one could become a true god.
The group soon returned to Port Nyanzaru.
If possible, Soren still wanted to help Vivian ascend to godhood. Then she would stand on the same level as the Demon Lord of Fear. Even if one god was stronger than another, a battle between gods would not involve the crushing advantage a god held over a mortal. But finding a suitable portfolio for Vivian gave Soren a terrible headache. Even if he were willing to strip one of his own portfolios away and grant it to her, the little girl probably could not absorb it.
A portfolio had to suit the person who held it.
Soren was a Half-Elf and a Rogue, which was why he had been able to integrate those two portfolios so easily.
The Tracking portfolio had no direct connection to either, but it suited him well. That was why Soren had been able to absorb and convert it without much trouble.
If someone suddenly handed Soren a maternal portfolio, he would be in serious trouble.
There were plenty of broadly applicable portfolios.
But many portfolios were suited only to men or women. Unless he wanted to end up like the Elven Overgod, male one moment and female the next, he had better not integrate one that did not suit him.
A day passed in the blink of an eye.
As the new year approached, Port Nyanzaru grew livelier. Even the usually stern and rigid Drow began preparing for it, and everyone else was more eager still.
Some outsiders had arrived in Port Nyanzaru recently.
Many were Bards. Some were followers of the Goddess of Joy, while others were pleasure-seekers who worshipped the Goddess of Cats
