Port Nyanzaru.
Several files lay on the desk before Soren. His mood seemed heavy. After reading one file, he sealed it again and returned it to his archives. They contained reports of unusual events, many directly involving deities. The file on his left, for instance, described a place where nothing had grown for centuries. Locals called it Death Valley, yet overnight it had burst into bloom and become a lush, living paradise.
To this day, druids called it a miracle of nature!
Without a doubt.
A deity had done this.
The second file concerned a large primeval forest near the Land of Ice and Snow. Overnight, every tree had withered, turning the forest into a Land of Death that spread its blight to everything around it like a plague. This, too, had to be a deity's doing—most likely Lady of Plague and Poisons.
These events all had one thing in common.
When deities fell to the mortal world, strange events followed. They defied every law of nature. Calling them miracles would not be an exaggeration.
The sudden appearance of a giant tornado was just such an event.
The Lord of Storms, a deity of Greater Divinity, had fallen to the mortal world because of the Time of Troubles. His immense divine power had slipped beyond his control. As mentioned before, a deity falling to the mortal world could not retain the divine power accumulated over countless years, nor the Power of Faith stored in his God's Realm. He descended in Avatar Form, and his entire Divine Power Value was emptied at once.
That emptied divine power did not simply vanish!
Depending on a deity's nature, power, and Portfolio, it produced all manner of terrifying effects. Death Valley had become a paradise teeming with life. An immense forest had withered overnight.
