Plant Domain!

Plant Domain.

It was a relatively rare Domain Ability. Under normal circumstances, only a handful of Legendary Druids could obtain it, and Tree Shepherds had the easiest time of any profession. Legendary Treants, Legendary Dryads, Legendary Pixies, and other creatures of nature would also come to understand it naturally once they reached a certain level. Among humans and other races, though, the chances were vanishingly small. At least Soren had never seen a human master this domain.

"Looks like I have the Father of Oaks to thank for this."

As one of the chief gods of the Nature Pantheon, the Father of Oaks had long been regarded as an embodiment of nature. While awakening his Divine Power, Soren had sensed some of its properties, allowing him to grasp the Plant Domain. That insight probably required the right foundation. If Ildis had been in his place, he likely could never have grasped the Plant Domain, no matter what he did. He simply lacked a Deity's abilities and could not comprehend the rules governing divine power.

The ritual continued.

Soren entered a strange state in which his spirit seemed separate from his body. Some of the Father of Oaks' Divine Power was still flowing into him, but no further information prompts appeared during the rest of the ritual.

Soren's awareness still hung over the forest. Through the haze, he seemed to see the phantom of an enormous tree reaching into the sky, a vision formed from the Father of Oaks' Divine Power.
