As February drew nearer, spring was also approaching in the Land of Ice and Snow. The snow on the roads had begun to melt, and the drifting ice grew scarcer as temperatures rose. People began working in the fields. Because of the region's climate, the Land of Ice and Snow had only one main crop each year, sown in February or March and harvested in July or August. The remaining months were spent growing other things. Arendelle's royal family had ruled this land for a long time. Had it not been affected by the Time of Troubles, its traditions would probably have endured for many years to come.

The weather should have been fairly pleasant, but weather could change as quickly as a woman's mood.
