Soren briefly cleaned up the battlefield, then found a relatively safe spot. He set up a Warding Circle around it and used the power of his [Rogue] portfolio to lay a High Legend-level triggered trap. Only then did he cautiously begin fusing the divine power he had just gained. This was hardly his first time suppressing the lingering consciousness within divinity. If it had been only one or two points of divine rank, he could now "refine" it in the blink of an eye. This time, however, he had around ten points, which would take a little longer.
This was the fundamental difference between a true god and a mortal.
Back then, Soren had risked his life to accomplish the feat of "walking a thousand miles barefoot" just to refine a single point of divine rank.
The entire process was a clash of wills.
Without question, Soren, who had come this far one step at a time, could suppress a mere sub-deity. Thus, not much time had passed by the time he finished fusing those 10 points of divine rank.
A series of notifications appeared before his eyes:
"Ability increased!..." "Your accumulated divine rank has reached 100 points!... Advanced from [Moderate Divinity] to [Medium Divinity]!..." "Divine power increased!..." "Divine power conversion!... All your attributes +1!..."
An immense surge of divine power emerged.
Once his divine rank reached 100 points, it seemed to cross a critical threshold. All his divinity burst forth like radiant light, and power instantly flooded Soren's body. His flesh gradually changed as matter and energy transformed into one another. Vaguely, his flesh and bones seemed suffused with golden divine radiance. When Soren turned his gaze inward, he discovered that his blood had become entirely golden.
