Soren looked down on everything from the sky.
As the master of the Battle Standard Plane, Soren had now created two Banner Trials. Both were much easier than the one he had first encountered, drawing heavily on his experience with competitive games in his previous life to create battle scenarios. The first pitted Port Nyanzaru against a demon army and had been used in the initial test. That Banner Trial had certain limitations, which was why Soren had created this new trial mode today: a Blood War Trial set in the Infinite Abyss.
There was a reason he had chosen the Blood War.
Every class wielder knew about it, and being sent to its battlefield would make it easy for them to immerse themselves in the experience, allowing the brutal environment to force out their latent potential.
Besides...
Soren also needed to conduct an important test.
He needed to know whether the power of slaughter produced when a trial taker was killed by a plot character was the same as when one trial taker killed another!
Soren himself had participated in the Blood War of the Abyss.
That made the entire Banner Trial extremely realistic. Even the terrain closely resembled the First Floor of the Abyss, because Soren had simulated everything using the Blood War battle his Demon Avatar had once experienced. In terms of its setup, this was still a small-scale encounter. There were too few trial takers to justify spending much power on expanding the trial. Yet even a small encounter, measured against the scale of the Blood War of the Abyss, could easily destroy a small kingdom on the Material Plane. The combined demon and devil armies already numbered over ten thousand.
All the trial takers had been assigned the role of mercenaries.
