Bolstered by several thousand points of Faith Power, his ordinarily plain voice rang in his believers' ears like deafening thunder, shaking their very souls.
Lin Xiao had specifically studied many books on communication between Deities and believers. He had also drawn on many classic speeches from Earth in his previous life, including the quotes and success theories of various masters. He had gained some insight into how to stir up his believers' emotions.
Perhaps because the worlds were different, he found that the success theories of those masters from his previous life worked exceptionally well in managing believers. As long as he adjusted the approach slightly and applied them, the results were quite good.
The masters' success theories, combined with his talent and their devout faith, allowed him to always use simple verbal artistry to stir his believers' emotions and fill them with fighting spirit.
The Divine Revelation was delivered, and the Kinfolk in the Demiplane seemed as though they had been injected with stimulants, brimming with energy. Several Naga Leaders shouted loudly, gathering the Murlocs not far from the Portal and preparing them for battle.
Ten minutes passed in an instant. As the Portal opened wide, a large group of Quppits, about 1.3 to 1.4 meters tall with blue skin all over their bodies, crawled out and rushed en masse toward the nearby Murlocs.
The Murlocs, who had long since grown impatient, waved their weapons and let out strange cries, eager to fight. But without an order from the Naga Leaders, they did not dare charge out.
Only when the roughly five hundred Quppits had rushed to within ten meters did one Naga Leader fiercely wave the Short Spear in his hand and roar. Seven to eight hundred impatient Murlocs surged forward, intercepting the Quppits.
According to the school encyclopedia, Quppits were otherworldly demons born stupid and slow-moving. They stood around 1.3 meters tall and possessed a pair of claws, but their combat strength was very low. They mainly relied on their innate damage reduction and swarm tactics to fend off enemies. Like Goblins, the more companions they had, the bolder they became; the fewer companions they had, the more timid they became.
So when several more groups of Murlocs arrived and surrounded them, the Quppits' naturally cowardly nature took over. They huddled into a group and passively endured the beating.
It had to be said that the Quppits' innate passive damage reduction was indeed formidable. Their defense did not appear particularly high, and there were no thick scales or keratin layers visible on their bodies, yet when the Murlocs stabbed them with spears, the results were not as effective as expected. It was as though a tough membrane covering their bodies had blocked part of the damage.
Moreover, although the encyclopedia rated Quppits as very weak, that weakness was relative. They were demons, after all. Once the battle truly began, Lin Xiao was surprised to discover that these Quppits were actually somewhat stronger than the Murlocs.
More than a thousand Murlocs besieged them, yet they stubbornly held on. As the Quppits gradually realized that the Murlocs surrounding them were not particularly strong, they actually grew bolder and began counterattacking. They traded blows with the Murlocs back and forth, leaving Lin Xiao utterly dumbfounded.
Several minutes passed in this back-and-forth. Then the Portal suddenly reacted again. Faint rings of light rippled outward and swelled, and another group of Quppits crawled out.
Seeing their companions arrive as reinforcements, the surrounded Quppits' morale soared, and they actually dared to launch a counterattack.
Lin Xiao frowned tightly, but said nothing. He did not interfere with his Kinfolk's command.
A Deity tending believers needed to know their limits. Constantly commanding one's Kinfolk in battle at every little turn was not something a qualified Deity would do.
Besides, another five hundred Quppits were still not enough to pose a threat to his Kinfolk. They would only make the Kinfolk feel the pressure and respond appropriately.
Within the Demiplane, Yuan Hong stood above the heavens and looked down upon the earth, watching waves of Quppits get harvested by volleys of arrows fired by his Kinfolk. His expression remained blank.
After several decades of development, his Swamp Lizardmen tribe had grown to nearly 3,200 members, including more than a thousand Lizardman Archers.
During the early stages, everyone had low-level races, and the enemies they faced were generally low-level races as well. They might occasionally encounter Intermediate Races, but not often. Archers possessed extremely high strategic value at this stage. When over a thousand archers unleashed a volley, it could probably cripple an ordinary classmate's Kinfolk outright.
He had passed the first three elimination trials with virtually no losses. For now, he was also completely unscathed in the additional Endless Mode trial.
Arrow rain filled the sky. Wave after wave of Quppits fell midway through their charge without even being able to approach.
Yuan Hong had not originally planned to continue with the additional trial. As the son of a True God, he had long known that the additional trial after the three elimination rounds would only randomly reward a Five-Star Card, which held little appeal for him.
The main reason was that he had just received a reminder from the Class Teacher and learned that the Old Headmaster had mentioned this additional trial, which piqued his interest.
The reward itself did not matter, and even the prizes for the top three were not essential to him. What he valued most was that Super Freshman Summer Camp Spot. It was extremely important to him, and he had to fight for it with everything he had.
Just as he had expected, Wan Chuan was also interested in continuing the Endless Mode challenge because of the Super Freshman Summer Camp Spot. Otherwise, he had been prepared to return after the three elimination rounds.
In the entire class, only four students had received Wu Hai's reminder. Besides Wan Chuan and Yuan Hong, there were Lin Xiao and Meng Hui. The other students had received no reminder from the teacher and, after the three rounds, knew they could not compete with the other outstanding students, so they chose to return.
It was not that the teacher was playing favorites. So long as a student had a chance, he would remind them. After all, they were all his students. Whoever earned the honor made no difference to him.
After observing the students' overall strength, Wu Hai believed that only these four students had a chance of entering the top ten. The other students had neither the opportunity nor enough remaining strength, so there was no need to waste this time.
It was not just Class Three. The ten first-year classes were basically the same. Fewer than fifty students in total were deemed by their teachers to have a chance and remained.
These fifty students were essentially the most outstanding group of students in their respective Class Teachers' eyes. Barring any surprises, the vast majority of them would be selected for the Elite Class after the Final Exam.
The Final Exam had not yet ended, but in the eyes of the Class Teachers, the Elite Class members had basically already been decided. Lin Xiao was fortunate enough to have already been recognized by his Class Teacher as a member of the Elite Class, and he was predicted to rank quite highly among them.
But he did not know that, in his Class Teacher's eyes, his potential was even greater than imagined.
At this moment, he was overlooking the battlefield from within the Demiplane. He watched as, just after one group of Quppits had been dealt with, a herd of Abyssal Brutal Boars burst from the Portal. Their frenzied charge scattered the Murlocs in all directions.
They were beasts as tall as horses, with backs rising like steep slopes. The areas around their small red eyes were filthy, while thumb-sized demon flies swarmed around their bodies covered in black bristles.
These creatures were Brutal Boars that had entered the Abyss and been corrupted by the Abyssal Will. They had become even more savage than their already brutal kin and were somewhat larger as well.
Some demons liked to tame these beasts as mounts. There were also dedicated Brutal Boar Riders in the Abyss; when they charged in groups, they were comparable to human cavalry.
