For Thor, the most important thing now was undoubtedly condensing a Life Seed and becoming an Apprentice Knight. Under normal circumstances, this would have been almost impossible. At his current pace, he would need at least a year, but in three days, he would come of age. If he failed to become an Apprentice Knight by then, he would be exiled.
Three days simply was not enough.
Unless he could obtain a High-Grade Life Potion containing a large amount of Life Source Power, there was basically no hope.
But a High-Grade Life Potion containing a large amount of Life Source Power was difficult to obtain even for his father, Engel Dreyrosa, let alone him. Otherwise, his father would not have been stuck at the peak of the Earth Knight realm.
He had even less hope.
Yet this time, he had a chance.
A Life Fruit was the product of a High-Grade Magical Plant and one of the main ingredients in High-Grade Life Potions.
Even when consumed on its own, its effects were comparable to half a High-Grade Life Potion's, more than enough to help him condense a Life Seed.
Just as the Daily Intelligence had stated, that Ryan had directly condensed a Life Seed.
At that thought, Thor could no longer restrain himself.
He hurriedly rose and headed for his room.
"Young Master Thor!"
"Young Master Thor!"
Along the way, the male and female servants respectfully bowed to him.
Amid those calls, he returned directly to his room.
With the servants attending him, he quickly removed his armor, washed up, and changed into noble attire.
Then, without delay, he left Dreyrosa Castle.
Three knights followed behind him.
Though they were only Reserve Knights.
Still, these were the final three days he could enjoy such treatment. Once three days had passed, if he failed to condense a Life Seed, he would not only lose these three knights—even servants would be beyond his reach. At most, he would be given a few gold coins, and not many at that.
But Thor had no mind to spare for such matters now.
Riding a white horse, he swiftly headed toward his destination.
As a Count, Engel Dreyrosa's territory naturally extended far beyond Dreyrosa Castle. In fact, he ruled over ten towns of varying sizes in the surrounding area, covering roughly the same area as a small county from Thor's previous life. Lucerne Town was one of those ten towns, and it was not far from Dreyrosa Castle—only thirty or forty kilometers away.
By horse, it took only about an hour to reach Lucerne Town.
When Thor arrived,
the town clerk was startled and hurriedly came to greet him.
"Young Master Thor!"
The clerk spoke nervously.
"This has nothing to do with you. I'm just looking around."
Thor waved a hand and dismissed him.
"Yes, yes!"
The clerk nodded hastily. Not daring to linger, he quickly withdrew.
Thor dismounted and began searching.
At first, he had been considering how to find Miguel's Fruit Shop. The town was not large, but neither was it small, so locating a particular shop would not be easy.
However, that concern soon vanished.
After walking around, he discovered that there was only one fruit shop in the entire town.
Clearly, this was the one.
Thor stepped into Miguel's Fruit Shop.
Miguel, the shop's owner, immediately became nervous.
"My lord, wh-what do you need?"
Miguel asked uneasily.
Thor did not answer. Instead, he carefully sensed his surroundings.
Seeing that Thor did not respond, Miguel did not dare disturb him and could only follow behind.
The aura of a Life Fruit was extremely restrained. However, since Thor had learned the Knight's Breathing Technique, as long as he focused, he could quickly detect that faint anomaly.
Soon, Thor sensed that unusual presence among a pile of pear-like fruits.
Delight flashed across his face as he walked over.
Before long, he arrived at the fruits.
"Pack these up for me. I'll take them all."
Thor spoke, gesturing to Miguel.
"Yes, yes!"
Miguel looked somewhat bitter, but he still nodded quickly.
He promptly began wrapping them up.
"Give him a silver coin."
After taking the package, Thor gestured to one of the knights behind him.
"Yes, Young Master!"
The knight paused in surprise, but still nodded and took out a silver coin.
"My lord, this..."
Miguel's face brightened. He instinctively reached out to accept it, only to hesitate.
"Take it."
"Our Dreyrosa Family is not so low as to rob commoners of their belongings."
Suppressing his excitement, Thor spoke calmly, then turned and left with the three knights.
"Thank you, my lord!"
Miguel thanked him emotionally.
But Thor's figure was already nowhere to be seen.
Having obtained what he wanted, Thor quickly left the town and returned to Dreyrosa Castle.
Less than half an hour after he left,
a shabbily dressed youth arrived at Miguel's Fruit Shop.
"Get lost, get lost. I don't have anything for you here!"
Miguel spoke impatiently.
"Shopkeeper, give me one sour fruit."
The youth spoke timidly. His grimy hand fumbled inside his clothes for a long time before finally pulling out an Iron Coin.
"You actually have money!"
"Here, take this one."
Miguel was somewhat surprised, but after thinking it over, he took a sour fruit that Thor had passed over earlier and handed it to the youth.
"Thank you!"
The youth hurriedly thanked him and rushed away.
Yet at this moment, the course of history changed.
The youth who should have obtained that Life Fruit by chance and changed his fate seemed to have returned to square one once more.
Meanwhile, a destiny that should have been fixed encountered a ripple at this moment.
After returning to Dreyrosa Castle, Thor impatiently went back to his room.
Once he had dismissed all the servants, his gaze settled upon the Life Fruit.
As for the other sour fruits, he casually tossed them aside.
Looking at this utterly ordinary fruit, Thor felt his emotions surge as excitement spread uncontrollably through his heart.
A Life Fruit.
This was a Life Fruit.
Even if his father, Engel Dreyrosa, learned of it, he would probably be tempted.
With this fruit, one could almost certainly exchange it for a High-Grade Life Potion. Such value was enough to tempt even an Earth Knight, let alone anyone else.
Out in the wider world, it would be enough to make countless Earth Knights fight to the death.
As long as he handed this over, his father would certainly be willing to let him remain in Dreyrosa Castle, even if only as a parasite.
Rules might not be so important when the benefits were great enough.
At least, that was what Thor believed.
