The Level-9 battle in the Flowing Light Retrospective World had lasted nearly twenty thousand years from beginning to end.
There was one drawback to battles between such powerful beings, all of whom possessed Means to Break Balance.
It was difficult for anyone to forcibly suppress the other side.
Even the Enlightenment Prophet, which was at a disadvantage while being ganged up on, only showed that disadvantage in the depletion of its Level-9 Soul, which was far greater than that of the Level-9 beings before it.
Yet in terms of individual strength, the Enlightenment Prophet was not necessarily inferior to any of the beings before it.
Even the Undying Supreme, who was likewise at the Level-9 Mid-Stage, was not only countered in attributes by the Enlightenment Prophet when fighting it, but was actually ever so slightly inferior to the Enlightenment Prophet in realm as well.
Perhaps this was because the Enlightenment Prophet had advanced to the Level-9 Mid-Stage earlier than the Undying Supreme.
But the prolonged battle, especially this contest that had stretched on for nearly twenty thousand years, had also made the Enlightenment Prophet increasingly impatient.
Or rather, it had grown increasingly uneasy!
Like the Enlightenment Prophet, Gray Mist Level-9 Cthulhu felt immense unease as well.
This fellow had advanced to Level-9 even earlier, and had previously hidden within a Time-Space Crack to evade the searches of the Astral Realm Will and the Overseers.
In terms of violating the rules of balance, Gray Mist Level-9 might have gone even further.
Its inability to take down the Enlightenment Prophet after so long made Gray Mist Level-9 increasingly anxious.
Especially since the Gates of Rules within the Flowing Light Retrospective World still had not fully condensed after twenty thousand years.
It seemed their formation truly required the "sacrifice" of certain higher-quality lifeforms.
