Yet beyond the high walls came incessant hoarse cries and excited cheers.
The beasts were roaring.
Shouting.
Amid the thunderous crash of collapse, excited faces emerged from the smoke behind the walls blasted open by explosives. Countless people surged forth.
Those beasts who had once been finely dressed, covered in filth, or had not even had time to remove their uniforms, now clutched stolen blades and weapons as they charged fearlessly into Lord of Feasts' meticulously arranged estate, wrecking, looting, and venting the hunger and fury in their hearts.
"Food! Food! It's all food! Hahaha, everyone, come on, come on!!!"
In the resplendent banquet hall, a disheveled vagrant stared blankly at the feast spread across the long table—a feast beyond even his dreams—then cried out in delight.
He pounced on it and wolfed it down.
Behind him, the crowds poured in as well, fighting over the food, stuffing lobster, ham, and caviar into their mouths, racing to empty every plate, swallowing greedily and guzzling champagne and spring water.
The cups and plates lay in disarray.
"There's more here! In the storeroom!"
Someone at the front turned back and shouted ecstatically.
When the crowd burst into the enormous warehouse-like space behind the kitchen, their eyes went red at the sight of the dazzling variety and mountains of food piled high in the cold storage.
"They hid it all away! Those damned bastards stole our food!"
"My child... my child who starved to death..."
"Kill them!"
"Kill him!"
The beasts' shouts rose, growing louder and closer.
