"Excuse me, everyone, make way, make way, bleh..."
At the very back of the group, a participant who had been violently vomiting throughout the high-speed advance and fierce battle struggled to prop himself up, wiped the grime from the corner of his mouth, and forced a smile.
"Sorry, I get a little airsick... and I'm a bit afraid of heights too. Cough, cough, sorry."
The unfamiliar clerk was pale as a sheet, looking as though he were about to breathe his last, yet he still managed a weak smile.
Before this, almost no one had noticed that there was such a person in the group. But once he spoke up, everyone realized in surprise that he seemed to have been standing beside them all along; they had merely overlooked him.
"Sorry, everyone, please step back a little. Remember to sign the confidentiality agreement when you return."
The clerk gave an awkward smile and pulled out the Continuance Institute identification badge from his pocket.
Though he was practically about to faint, his movements were steady and swift. Holding a piece of chalk, he found a relatively flat stone and drew an extremely chibi-looking door upon it.
Then, shifting his fingers, he entered three digits onto the keypad drawn by the chalk, and a crisp sound came from within the lock.
Finally, he gathered all his strength and hammered it twice.
"Director Qinggeltai, open the door!" the clerk shouted. "We need a standard experimental subject disposal procedure here!"
A dull echo rang out. From the other side came the sound of a hinge turning, and beyond the illusory door that opened, a Creator as burly as a fighter stepped out of the darkness.
It was as though even the scene beyond the door was classified. Not even an Ascender's eyesight could pierce
