Earlier, after learning of Huai Shi's temporary plan, Sherlock Holmes had offered a blunt suggestion: "There's absolutely no need for you to create further complications now and increase the risk for nothing."
"No, this is precisely how we avoid risk."
Huai Shi shook his head. "If even you can make such a guess, then someone is bound to be suspicious. But who, exactly, is suspicious? The unknown is the most frightening thing.
And if we can't determine where our opponent's gaze is directed, why not give them a direction?"
"Hidden in plain sight?"
Sherlock Holmes understood at once. "It's too easy for this to blow up in your face, Huai Shi. Don't try to be clever."
After a brief silence, Huai Shi smiled. "No, I merely intend to give our friends in the Golden Dawn a little sense of security. After all, who would want to live in constant fear?"
"This isn't a rational gamble. The returns don't match the risks." Sherlock Holmes shook his head. "The Book of Destiny has limits too. You're using yourself as bait to catch prey, but if they discover that you truly aren't Yeats... the Heavenly Kingdom Lineage will lose everything."
"No, who said they would be checking me?"
Huai Shi's puzzled retort left Sherlock Holmes silent.
Then, in his raised hand, an ancient tome emerged. As layer upon layer of pages turned, a figure still immersed in illusion appeared...
"It's time to wake from the dream, Mr. Yeats."
Huai Shi offered his heartfelt wish. "Are you ready to welcome a brand-new stage of your life?"
From his beautiful dream, Yeats smiled and opened his eyes.
