When Huai Shi looked up, he immediately saw a strand of long hair drifting in the sunlight beyond the window.
And a face peeking out from behind Sherlock Holmes. As though secretly watching, she cautiously revealed her eyes from behind his shoulder, then instinctively shrank back when she noticed Huai Shi looking over.
Then, as if she realized there was no point in what she was doing, she poked her head out again.
With a faint, inexplicable indignation.
She glared.
Making Huai Shi even more delighted as he waved.
"Long time no see, Lily."
The girl who had still seemed somewhat uneasy behind Sherlock Holmes froze for a moment, then finally stepped out and nodded.
As if striving to remain composed, she politely replied, "Yes, Mr. Huai Shi. Long time no see."
"So polite?"
Huai Shi was speechless. "That's a little disappointing."
"No, it's just..."
Lily hesitated. Looking at him, she rose onto her tiptoes and stared into his eyes. At last, she uncertainly said, "You seem a little unfamiliar."
"Hm?"
Huai Shi paused and touched his face. "Do I?"
"Yes. So when I saw you just now, I was a little scared."
Lily gazed into his eyes, then could no longer suppress her smile. "But I can still see clearly that you're the same as before."
She said, "There hasn't been any change at all."
"Is that a good thing?" Huai Shi asked, puzzled.
"Of course."
Lily nodded hard, so solemnly.
"But you've changed a lot too."
As they walked side by side, Huai Shi casually gestured at her height. "Did you put on a little weight? Your face is a bit rounder... Hahaha, don't be nervous, I'm joking, joking. Don't kick me."
Pretending to dodge her booted toe as if it hurt terribly, Huai Shi changed the subject.
