"Something's wrong."
Inside the concert hall, Ai Qing looked at the images on the computer screen, as well as the data flashing past the edges of the surveillance feed, and suddenly murmured softly.
Giselle, taking on security duty for the first time, was like a startled bird. She jerked her head up. "Huh? Enemies? Where? Where?!"
"..."
Ai Qing could not help shaking her head. "Relax a little. You're an Apocalypse Painter, at least. Even if you can't beat them, you can still run away with me, right? Don't worry, it's not here."
It was the Three Leaves Building.
The building seemed to have long prepared for intrusions, both inside and out. Its internal surveillance had been protected by layer after layer of safeguards, inaccessible from outside. They could only observe it through cameras in the nearby plaza.
Yet now, within the facial recognition program, one image after another—some vaguely familiar, others never seen before—kept appearing in the approaching area.
The only thing they had in common was the crimson marker locked onto them.
The area threat level was rising rapidly.
And just moments ago, through her authorized monitoring, she had discovered that Adrian's phone had remained busy the entire time. The party on the other end was, unbelievably, a ridiculously high-level authority with no registration or records even within the Phantom Agency!
Where had it come from?
A confidential account hidden by the Central Decision Room? A secret channel connected to the Three Great Blockades? Or an unknown number leaked from the Security Bureau?
"Huai Shi, are there any unusual circumstances?"
Ai Qing asked.
"Huh? Probably not... I guess?"
A roar came from the other end of the call, mixed with noisy shouts and screams, followed by Huai Shi's puzzled voice. "I don't see anything unusual."
Because you yourself
