Final Thoughts—Thirty, Achievement, Dust and Earth
Apocalypse Forecast was finished!
It was finished! It was finished! It was finished! Finally, it was finished!
By the time you saw this line, I had already finished running around, screaming, shouting, roaring, writhing, and doing handstands. At last, I had regained a little composure and returned to my computer.
To complete the final task.
Ah, the final battle!
How stirring that sounded!
From its official upload on March 8, 2019, to its official completion on March 8, 2023, exactly four full years had passed.
I still remembered uploading it back then. I was still in Taiyuan, wandering the streets. After walking two blocks, I found an internet café and uploaded the first two chapters.
Then I spent an hour writing the new book announcement, telling everyone that I was back.
Now, after dragging things out for four years, I could finally bid everyone a brief farewell, free myself from Huai Shi's story, and temporarily return to my own story before beginning someone else's.
It was like a long dream.
Close my eyes, open them again, and four years had passed.
Only when I looked back did I realize that, without noticing, I was about to reach middle age.
Middle age was terrifying. Just mentioning the term made me afraid. Life was like a credit card: your glory days would eventually end, and then the bill came due.
After struggling helplessly, all I could do was lie flat and wait for life's suffering to descend.
I was thirty.
Everyone said that at thirty, one should be established in life. Yet not only had I failed to establish myself, I had only grown fatter by the day.
The biggest change was that I had gone from a chubby young shut-in to a chubby middle-aged shut-in.
