In the heat of battle, the rush of blood kept them from noticing anything. It was only after the dust had settled and their emotions began to relax that many realized they had already exhausted themselves.

System soldiers gained a slight status recovery effect upon advancing. For the barbarians and centaurs who had just emerged from a bloody battle, even this little bit of recovery was precious, at least allowing them enough strength to move normally.

The dwarf warriors were much worse off by comparison. The stamina they had lost could only be recovered slowly through rest, and many of them collapsed onto the battlefield, unwilling to get up.

"Sendak, how are your casualties?" Richard had not looked closely, but judging by the rough impression, there were probably at least a hundred.

Once the difference in individual combat strength between two sides in a war crossed a certain threshold, the exchange ratio would skyrocket to an absurd degree. To the Wildlanders, the High Mountain Keep's guards were basically above that threshold. No matter how desperately they fought, they could only throw their lives away.

Unfortunately, although the dwarves were fairly strong, they were clearly still below that threshold. Faced with an overwhelming disadvantage in numbers, their losses were inevitably heavy.

However, this battle had taken half the lives of the Wildlanders' veterans. They would absolutely never again have the courage to spy on the iron mine. Both the High Mountain Keep and the dwarves had achieved their strategic goals.

Richard called out twice without receiving a response. When he turned his head, he saw Robbie standing in the rain with a miserable look on his face.

"Uncle Sendak has fallen!"

He was holding a corpse in his arms. Nearly half of the breastplate had been caved in by heavy blows,
