Background / History
Elizabeth is not the Goblins’ original Spider Queen. The true queen is a giant egg-laying worm created by Goblins; Elizabeth emerged independently over time as a consciousness formed from mental fragments accumulated across the Sand Spider species. She considers herself separate from the Goblin creation and insists that she is free. 305 306
Her mind was shaped by the fragments she absorbed from Tiger Spirits and members of the Titan Expeditionary Force. This gave her common language, broad everyday knowledge, extraordinary mental power, and instinctive martial understanding, but left her inexperienced in ordinary life. She spent thousands of years in dark underground caves and had never encountered such commonplace sights as flowers or a busy city. 306 307 314 370 404
Before joining High Mountain Keep, Elizabeth enslaved the original Sand Spider Queen but could only influence the swarm within its natural instincts; she could not compel Sand Spiders to die pointlessly. She was also enslaved by the Mother Worm, and Richard later promised her safety in exchange for the location of Mithril-Root Wind-Grinding Mountain Copper. 311 315
Appearance
Elizabeth possesses an otherworldly beauty repeatedly noted even among nobles and powerful beings. Her delicate appearance conceals a body and fighting style capable of overwhelming veteran swordsmen. 304 418 423
- Long, glossy black hair, often braided by Annie. 310 314
- Smooth, pale skin and slender hands without visible calluses. 304 423
- Eight short appendages protruding from either side of her head; she commonly hides them beneath a headscarf. 308 424
- Initially appeared in heavy chitin armor during her time as the Spider Queen. 304
- Later wore civilian dresses and warrior clothing supplied by High Mountain Keep. 310 370
- Her exposed head-limbs were described as adding a sharp, supernatural grace rather than ugliness. 424
Personality
Elizabeth is proud, defiant, and intensely sensitive to being underestimated. Even while weakened and captured, she resisted Richard’s interrogation and reacted angrily whenever he mocked her martial arts or intelligence. 305 307 310
Her lack of worldly experience gives her a childlike curiosity. After leaving the underground caves, she eagerly asked about wildflowers, mirrors, cities, travel, and other ordinary sights. She enjoys travel and gardening picture books, but her understanding of knightly conduct has also been heavily shaped by dramatic knight novels. 314 347 367 404
Despite her threats toward Richard, Elizabeth ultimately chose to remain at High Mountain Keep as his knight. Her loyalty is genuine, though frequently expressed through unnerving promises to carry off his head should he neglect his cultivation. 367 391
Abilities & Skills
Master Martial Artist
Elizabeth possesses exceptional unarmed and armed combat skill derived from the collective martial knowledge contained in her mental fragments.
- Matched Richard in an intense duel before her spiritual essence was depleted. 297
- Retained enough technical ability while physically weakened to be considered capable of defeating Iguain within twenty moves. 304 307
- Can handle varied weapons with ease, including swords and a heavy two-meter halberd. 370
- Her techniques become far less dangerous when her physical strength and spiritual essence are diminished. 304
Soul-Calming Roar
Elizabeth can unleash a piercing sonic attack that disrupts and disorients opponents.
- Used it during her original battle with Richard. 297
- Disoriented Iguain while escaping confinement, allowing her to reach Nehru. 308
- The roar alone cannot compensate for her loss of physical power. 304
Soul Absorption
Elizabeth can initiate a Mind War to seize another being’s memories and spiritual essence.
- Requires a physical connection through one of the short appendages on her head. 308 309
- Attempted to absorb Nehru’s magical knowledge after noticing his elemental ability. 309
- A target’s spiritual resistance can defeat the attempt; Nehru’s fear of death helped make his spiritual world difficult to overcome. 309
- Her failed attempt cost her nearly half of her spiritual essence, while Nehru unintentionally absorbed part of it. 309
Spiritual Essence
Elizabeth possesses an exceptionally deep reserve of mental and spiritual power.
- Her spiritual essence supports both her unusual mental abilities and rapid Battle Aura development. 307 391
- Severe spiritual depletion reduced her physical strength to approximately that of an ordinary strong human. 304
- She can restore lost spiritual essence by soaking in the Source Blood pool in the New World. 368 370
- Her chaotic temperament may limit her potential as an elemental mage despite her vast mental talent. 319
Wind-Element Battle Aura
After Richard persuaded her to abandon magic for Battle Aura cultivation, Elizabeth developed a powerful wind-element affinity.
- Reached the apprentice stage in two hours and became a low-level Swordsman nine days later. 391
- Can spread Battle Aura into the surroundings to create “momentum” and launch repeated crescent-shaped wind blades. 423 424
- Her reserves and recovery rate let her expend Battle Aura with little restraint, unlike most swordsmen. 424
- Demonstrated profound wind-element Battle Aura during Richard’s confrontation with the Elf Kingdom. 422
Sand Spider Influence
Elizabeth maintains a limited connection to the Sand Spider Queen and its swarm.
- Enslaved the original Spider Queen but cannot freely command every Sand Spider. 311
- Cannot force the swarm to act against deeply ingrained instincts, including attacks on Titan kin during a full moon. 311
- Helped tame Netherworld Warriors for High Mountain Keep’s militia and peacekeepers. 316
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Wind-Grinding Mountain Copper sword — A remarkably hard sword Elizabeth forged herself from rare desert ore; it outmatched Richard’s Dwarf-made weapons during their first duel. 297 310
- Flame-thorn armor — Flame Demon-skin armor given to her after her spiritual recovery. 370
- Two-meter halberd — Forged from Demon Annihilation steel mixed with Mithril-Root Wind-Grinding Mountain Copper powder; light and easily controlled in Elizabeth’s hands despite weighing hundreds of pounds. 370
- Beruni’s sword — A gold-adorned sword gifted by Richard after Beruni’s defeat. 383
- Headscarf — Used to conceal the eight appendages on her head in public. 424
Relationships
- Richard — Former opponent and captor who became her lord after knighting her; their relationship is marked by mutual respect, taunting, and repeated threats from Elizabeth should he cease cultivating. 297 367 370
- Annie — A close companion who braids Elizabeth’s hair, explains the outside world, and introduced her to knight novels and travel books. 314 347 367
- Vera — Healed Elizabeth during Richard’s interrogation and helped reason with her about revealing her origins. 305
- Nehru — Target of Elizabeth’s failed Soul Absorption attempt; he unknowingly absorbed part of her spiritual essence. 308 309
- The original Spider Queen — The Goblin-created Mother Worm that Elizabeth enslaved, though her control over its Sand Spider swarm is limited. 305 311
- Ragnaros — The Flame Demon recognized Elizabeth as a threat even while dismissing Richard. 325
- Dominic — Forest Elf swordsman defeated by Elizabeth in a Battle Aura duel. 423 424
