A Zhulu Dou match at Fook Shing Building had spread through certain circles.
Although most gamblers were wiped out by Song Ren, the huge underdog.
The exhilarating yet bloody spectacle still made these elites feel the trip was worthwhile.
It even boosted Fook Shing Building's reputation even further.
With this one match, Song Ren had killed three boxers and secured five victories in a single go.
It could be said that he had made a name for himself on the top-tier boxing ring.
Three days later, at a super-luxurious high-end club.
Song Ren had borrowed Zhu Bao'er's favor to book a private room here.
This time, he had specifically come to entertain a Hong Kong tycoon.
In terms of status, Song Ren had shed the title of a death row inmate from Stanley Prison, or even a criminal.
The death row inmate situation was merely a substitution of identity.
As agreed, helping the prison warden win this highly publicized boxing match had earned him a fortune.
Although he was reluctant to let Song Ren go just like that, he had to keep his word, as Song Ren was far more than just a simple criminal.
Moreover, after this Zhulu Dou match, Song Ren's name had become quite notorious and had attracted the attention of many big spenders.
Trying to catch another underdog like him would be nearly impossible.
Furthermore, Zhu Bao'er had also used Sir Zhu's name to mediate.
The warden decided to go with the flow and grant this favor that wasn't really a favor.
Inside the private room
Song Ren wore a well-fitting black suit with a neat white shirt underneath.
He sat quietly in his seat, eyes closed, resting.
A moment later, he glanced down at his silver-white wristwatch. It had been over half an hour past the scheduled meeting time.
The tea on the table had been refilled several times, yet the room remained quiet.
Song Ren was very patient. Leaning back in his seat, he continued to doze with his eyes closed.
After another half hour or so, footsteps could be heard outside the private room.
Song Ren opened his eyes and turned his head to look.
The private room door opened, and led by a fawning manager, a group led by Fok Siu Tong walked in.
Fok Siu Tong was wearing a custom-made suit and a neat tie. He was of average build, slightly plump, and of medium height.
He was around fifty years old, with a receding hairline, sporting the typical "elite" male pattern baldness.
Entering with him were two vigilant-looking bodyguards in black.
Another two bodyguards were stationed at the entrance of the private room.
Song Ren proactively stood up and walked over, extending his hand. "Mr. Fok, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Fok Siu Tong glanced down at the hand Song Ren extended.
He simply chuckled and walked past Song Ren.
He went directly to the main seat at the tea table, with his two bodyguards standing quietly behind him.
Song Ren looked at his hand, still held in mid-air. He smiled, naturally retracted it, and sat down opposite Fok Siu Tong.
Before Song Ren could speak, Fok Siu Tong directly said:
"I know about the Fook Shing Building incident, and I know about your relationship with Bao'er."
"That's why I agreed to Bao'er's request to meet you here."
"But as the chairman of Fok's Bank, you should understand that I'm usually very busy."
"So, if you have something to say, it's best to keep it brief."
Song Ren nodded. "Okay, then I'll be brief—"
"I think," Fok Siu Tong interrupted before he could finish.
He glanced at his watch and asked with certainty, "I think one minute should be enough, right?"
"..." Song Ren raised an eyebrow and looked at him.
Booking this private room had cost him most of his fortune.
And he had borrowed Zhu Bao'er's favor to secure it, only to be given one minute in the end.
Rich people are really something...
Song Ren gave a self-deprecating smile, then looked up, his tone becoming calm. "Alright, one minute is more than enough."
Hok Siu Tong glanced at him with a hint of surprise.
This young man is quite composed.
I've already made my attitude quite clear.
Perhaps I should make it even clearer?
Hok Siu Tong thought, a touch of dark amusement in his mind.
He didn't believe a boxer scraping by at the very bottom was qualified to speak with him.
If his future daughter-in-law hadn't personally requested it, he wouldn't have come to this meeting at all.
One minute was already him showing pity.
Song Ren, without any hesitation, took a photocopy of a handwritten booklet from his pocket.
He then pushed it towards Hok Siu Tong. "Mr. Hok, would you like to take a look?"
Hok Siu Tong merely glanced at the cover, then adjusted the glasses on his nose. "Your minute is almost up. I don't think I'll be able to finish it. Perhaps another time."
Song Ren said calmly, "Mr. Hok, you'll be able to finish it."
Hok Siu Tong's tone was calm, even certain. "If I say I can't finish it, then I definitely can't."
With that, he stood up, preparing to leave.
Song Ren smiled and then retrieved the booklet.
However, as Hok Siu Tong brushed past him, he calmly added:
"Mr. Hok, A Lok asked me to send his regards."
Hok Siu Tong's unhurried steps paused.
The perfunctory smile on his face stiffened.
He turned back to look at Song Ren's unmoving figure seated there.
He looked at the photocopied white booklet on the table.
Hok Siu Tong paused for a long moment, then sat back down expressionlessly.
Song Ren: "Mr. Hok? Not leaving? Did you forget something?"
Hok Siu Tong gave him a deep look, then extended his hand. "Give me the booklet."
Song Ren raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you say you couldn't finish it?"
Hok Siu Tong's face darkened as he reached out, but remained silent.
Song Ren let out a scoff.
With resonant words, he said firmly, "I told you, you absolutely will be able to finish it."
Even if you can't, you're going to sit here and finish it!
Hok Siu Tong's expression immediately turned somewhat grim, but he still kept his hand extended.
Song Ren glanced at the outstretched hand.
He then tossed the photocopy over, hitting Hok Siu Tong directly in the chest before falling onto the tea table.
The two bodyguards behind Hok Siu Tong immediately frowned.
But their employer hadn't given an order, so they couldn't act rashly.
Hok Siu Tong's expression was grim, but he silently retracted his hand, picked up the photocopy, and began flipping through it page by page.
Soon, his expression became increasingly fascinating to behold.
It contained fragmented, important information that A Lok had casually jotted down while working for Hok Siu Tong.
Although it was just the tip of the iceberg, with this, it was almost certain that A Lok must have backups of other things.
After a long while, Hok Siu Tong looked up again.
For the first time, his usual demeanor of a refined and powerful figure couldn't suppress his anger. He spoke word by word:
"You little punk! You dare to threaten me!!!"
Song Ren leaned back casually in his chair, seemingly amused by the statement. He tilted his head back and let out a unrestrained, light laugh.
Finally, he lowered his head, the smile gone from his eyes, his gaze growing sharper:
"Damn it! Or do you think I invited you for tea?"
