Background / History

Yau Kong Ngau was once a rising star and elite officer in the police force. His entire Serious Crime Unit team was imprisoned after using excessive interrogation during the kidnapping case involving Fok Siu Tong. The interrogation led to the accidental death of the suspect Cola, also referred to as Kele. One team member later committed suicide, while the rest were sent to Stanley Prison 8 20.

By the time Song Ren arrived at Stanley, Yau had already spent three years in prison. Former suspects and gang members he had arrested repeatedly targeted him, leaving him covered in recurring injuries and forcing him to spend a month recovering in the infirmary 8. Despite this, he maintained his composure and avoided unnecessary trouble because his release date was approaching.

Yau initially formed a guarded connection with Song Ren after Song intervened when Hua Gu’s group attacked him in the bathhouse. He regarded Song as the first prisoner willing to directly help him and promised to remember the favor 11 14. Their relationship developed into a loyal partnership.

When Hua Gu’s group attacks him in the bathhouse, Song Ren intervenes. Yau’s gratitude toward Song becomes the foundation of their partnership 11 14. He later fights A Hu and helps Song establish authority among the inmates 18.

Yau also participates in the ambush against Song Ren led by Fat Dog. Song defeats all eight attackers, leaving Yau and the prison guards shocked by the aftermath 14 15.

Early Release and Golden Shield Security
