Palace on the Island

The sky was darkening.

Seeing the upheaval unfold in Green Island City,

the ordinary people who were not slave laborers immediately ducked into their homes and locked their doors tight, with no intention of coming back out.

The Awakened, on the other hand,

some rushed toward the Law Gold Light, while others cared only for themselves, likewise searching for places to hide in the city and turning a deaf ear to everything happening.

With this scene unfolding before him,

Linsey faced a crucial choice.

Should he keep moving forward according to plan, enter the heart of the city, and take away that item brimming with Life Force?

Or should he turn back and support Hilude and Yarrowen?

Linsey immediately opened his map.

What he saw was not what he had imagined: Hilude and Yarrowen being discovered and then besieged by Green Island City's Awakened.

The truth was the complete opposite.

Hilude and Yarrowen, together with the other slaves they had rescued, were rampaging through the city.

Everywhere they went, they stormed into their enemies' homes and killed the Awakened inside.

Then they freed the slaves under those people's control.

With two Fifth Stage Awakened working together, no one in the currently underdefended Green Island City could resist them.

This group killed as it advanced, and its numbers kept growing.

Quite a few other rescued Awakened joined them as well.

Even though Green Island City had loyal Awakened who tried to stop this snowballing force,

they held no advantage in either numbers or quality against their enemies.

They were usually no match at all, cut down in an instant.
