Hanging Sword

A white Sword Light carved a straight silver streak through the night.

The great merchant, helpless in midair, could no longer evade. The protection granted by his skills had also been shattered by Linsey's earlier attack.

The next second.

Yarrowen severed Kingfisher's head at the root.

His corpse continued flying several meters forward from inertia, only coming to a stop when it crashed into a field of shattered rubble, together with the blood it had scattered.

As for the Law Knight who had swung that sword.

The golden glow in his eyes scattered away, and his body uncontrollably pitched forward. He nearly failed to remain standing and almost collapsed to the ground!

"Yarrowen?"

Seeing this, Linsey assumed the battle had ended.

Naturally, he stepped forward to check on the Law Knight's condition.

That frail figure was nothing like how a normal person should look, let alone Yarrowen, a Fifth Stage Awakened!

But before Linsey could approach, Yarrowen called out in a deep voice:

"Don't look at me!"

"Lord Linsey! This merchant has the ability to heal outside his body. He may not be completely dead yet!"

Linsey immediately shifted his attention.

Sure enough, the power of Source Material on the merchant's decapitated corpse had not completely dissipated with his death.

The Scouting Skill promptly gave him a notification.

Linsey could see a faint white glow emerging around the great merchant's waist and abdomen.

A Source Material artifact—the external core where an Awakened stored Source Material.

Whoosh!

The flaming spear flew rapidly from Linsey's hand, shooting toward the merchant's body like a comet streaking through the night.

But this attack failed to work.

Having had his defense shattered in a single blow earlier, the great merchant had learned his lesson.

His regenerating body did not clash head-on with Linsey's attack.
