"Build an entirely new energy system?"
Linsey sounded doubtful on the surface, merely following up on the Calculation Core's words:
"Since you invited me here because of this, you must already have a plan. Tell me what you have in mind first."
As he spoke, Linsey stepped through the heatwave and entered the underground chamber.
The Calculation Core's computing ability was also tied to the flow speed of source essence. The violent fluctuations of source essence nearby indicated the speed at which it was currently calculating.
Then, the Calculation Core spoke:
"Mr. Linsey, my calculation is—since you proposed such a suggestion, you must possess the ability to accomplish it. Those who are entirely incapable of something generally find it difficult to conceive of such ideas."
There was no beating around the bush.
The Machine Race's conversational logic was simply that straightforward.
If they had a need, they stated it directly. They did not employ tactics such as threats or inducements.
Linsey thought for a moment.
Continuing to act confused would only hinder his negotiations with the Machine Race, so he gave a direct answer as well:
"I do have some ideas regarding the energy issue."
"But my method may pose some problems for you."
The Calculation Core immediately asked:
"Does this problem mean that we would have to pay a great price?"
Linsey responded with a question:
"Do you know Organizer's Skill?"
The Calculation Core's voice clearly faltered.
Then it skipped the question and went straight to the final outcome:
"The price of providing energy is that we must obey your commands?"
Linsey immediately shook his head:
"I will not place any restrictions on you, nor will I issue any compulsory commands. But the price of using this skill is that, in terms of affiliation, you must belong to me.
