Ch. 621Three Green Falcons

Abel and the two knight groups prepared for an Orc attack after three Green Falcons appeared overhead. Two thousand Wolf Riders charged toward separate groups, leaving Eddie’s group in the middle untouched for the moment.

  • Three Green Falcons appeared above Abel, and Bodley and Eddie ordered their groups to stop and prepare for battle.
  • Abel activated a Defense Array while the knights and wizards prepared their defenses; he lent K3305 and K3308 passive defensive items.
  • Abel sensed the approaching orcs, and Bodley ordered Markham to protect the wizards as they readied their attacks.
  • Bodley spotted a thousand-man Wolf Rider force, while Abel recognized that a second force was attacking Glogg’s group and Eddie’s group had no enemies approaching.
  • Eddie realized neither group could safely face a thousand Wolf Riders alone and saw that moving toward his position would expose them to attack before their defenses were ready.

Ch. 622Berserk

Abel and the human forces faced elite Wolf Riders who charged under the effects of a Berserk Potion. As the battle began, Abel killed the leading Great Wolf Rider Commander with two arrows.

  • Abel urged Grand Knight Commander Eddie to support Grand Knight Commander Glogg, and Eddie's group moved left after Grand Knight Commander Bodley assured him his group could hold its ground.
  • The Wolf Riders revealed an elite force with twenty Wolf Rider Captains and two Great Wolf Rider Commanders, then used a Berserk Potion to drive their mounts and riders into a killing frenzy.
  • Abel and the others prepared as the Wolf Rider unit accelerated toward their group, while K3308 claimed he would stand behind K3516 and guard his back.
  • When the leading Great Wolf Rider Commander entered the range of Abel's "Gentle Breeze," Abel paralyzed him with an electrified arrow and killed him with a second arrow through the eye.
  • The Great Wolf Rider Commander's death produced a pillar of "Battle Qi like Smoke," but the berserk Wolf Riders showed no reaction and continued their charge.

Ch. 623One String Three Arrows

Abel used his lightning bow and One String Three Arrows to disrupt and slaughter the charging Wolf Rider thousand-man unit. He paralyzed the Great Wolf Rider Commander with one arrow and sent a second into his heart, leaving the battle at a decisive moment.

  • Abel recalled an elven archery technique and fired three lightning arrows at once, killing three Wolf Riders and paralyzing their Direwolves.
  • Abel’s rapid, carefully aimed volleys obstructed the charging Wolf Riders, causing their formation to collapse into collisions and further deaths.
  • The Great Wolf Rider Commander charged forward to clear a path, while Abel continued killing Wolf Riders from a distance.
  • Abel paralyzed the Great Wolf Rider Commander with one arrow and redirected a second arrow into his unarmored chest, where it struck his heart.

Ch. 624The Destruction

Abel annihilated one thousand-man Wolf Rider unit with a relentless barrage of arrows, then rode out to engage a second unit. He kept the pursuing Wolf Riders at the bow’s ideal range and struck down their Great Wolf Rider Commander.

  • Abel killed the first Wolf Rider unit’s commander and vice commander, then continued firing until the entire unit fell.
  • Abel ordered the Direwolf King out of the Defense Array and charged toward another thousand-man Wolf Rider unit.
  • After a Full Vitality Potion healed his injuries, Abel began attacking the second unit with lightning arrows.
  • Abel rode at a steady distance beyond the Wolf Riders’ bow range and killed them as they pursued him.
  • Abel paralyzed the second unit’s Great Wolf Rider Commander with one arrow, then struck his unarmored abdomen with two more.

Ch. 625The Rout

Abel routed the Wolf Rider unit, killed its last Great Wolf Rider Commander, and gained a point of agility after entering an extraordinary state during battle. The group hailed him as a Master Archer, but he refused Grand Knight Commander Eddie’s request to stay in Miracle City.

  • Abel’s attacks shattered the Wolf Rider formation, and the fleeing soldiers were chased down by the Direwolf King.
  • Abel used Telekinesis to interrupt the last Great Wolf Rider Commander’s charge, then killed him with an arrow through the eye.
  • After the battle, Abel realized his control over his body had improved and found that his agility had risen to fifty-one.
  • K3308 and Grand Knight Commander Eddie praised Abel, and the group called him a Master Archer.
  • Grand Knight Commander Eddie asked Abel to remain in Miracle City, but Abel refused because he was only there for a mission on the Orc Battlefield.

Ch. 626A Temporary End

Abel and the squad defeated a large Wolf Rider force, collected its weapons and valuables, and withdrew before the Orc Empire could retaliate. The squad continued its hunting mission and stopped for an early dinner, expecting another attack that evening.

  • Grand Knight Commander Eddie ordered the squad to gather the spoils and leave, and Abel collected the recovered valuables and weapons.
  • Abel explained why he could not take control of the masterless dire wolves while Green Falcons watched overhead, and Grand Knight Commander Bodley silenced K3308.
  • The squad continued its mission instead of returning to Miracle City or retreating beneath the Miracle Wall.
  • After traveling roughly five li, Grand Knight Commander Eddie stopped the squad for an early dinner and warned that the orcs might attack that evening.

Ch. 627Orc War Drum

As the Orc War Drum cursed the battlefield, Abel discovered that his Druidic sub-soul could absorb and convert the curse energy. He began using it to weaken the curse on his companions, leaving the team better able to face the approaching orcs.

  • Grand Knight Commander Eddie identified the sound as the Orc War Drum, and K3305 explained that it weakened enemies while strengthening orcs.
  • Abel detected the accumulating curse on his body and absorbed it into his Druidic sub-soul, converting it into colorless energy.
  • K3308 realized he had been cursed, but his defensive spell and enhancement runes failed to remove the effect.
  • Grand Knight Commander Eddie prepared to retreat if the team could not withstand the orcs, but Abel offered to dispel the curse.
  • Abel connected his mental power to his nineteen companions and began drawing their curse energy into his Druidic sub-soul; K3308 soon reported that the curse had weakened.

Ch. 628Strike Out

Abel located the Orc War Drum with his telescope and set out alone to destroy it. As he reached the orcs guarding it, they spotted him and began summoning reinforcements, leaving Abel poised to attack with Fireball.

  • Abel used his telescope to show Grand Knight Commander Eddie the Orc War Drum's location, then offered Miracle City the method for making the telescope.
  • Abel declined Grand Knight Commander Bodley's offer to accompany him and rode the Direwolf King toward the drum.
  • After sensing danger, Abel put on the Invisibility Cloak and used its headband to extend his mental power's range to 480 meters.
  • Abel reached the hillside and identified two bear-men, four Great Wolf Rider Commanders, four Orc Priests, and two wolf-men guarding the drum.
  • A Great Wolf Rider Commander blew a bone flute to summon more orcs, and Abel activated Fireball as soon as the guards came within range.

Ch. 629Charge

Abel fought through an Orc Priest-led defense to reach the Orc War Drum before reinforcements arrived. He slipped through the death-energy barrier and cast Shadow Cloak as the orcs prepared to stop him.

  • Abel used guided Fireball and Arrow Rain against the orcs, but a Clay Golem and an Intermediate Defense Array blocked his attacks.
  • The Orc Priests trapped Abel and the Direwolf King with Bone Wall, Weakening, and Bone Spears, but Abel deflected the spears and leaped over the wall.
  • Abel passed through the Defense Array by drawing its death energy into his Druidic sub-soul, then rushed into the formation on foot.
  • Thirty-two skeletons and the Orcs' front line tried to keep Abel from the Orc War Drum as reinforcements neared.
  • Abel cast Shadow Cloak, shrouding the orcs in a black cloud.

Ch. 630Retrieval

Abel used the Shadow Cloak to seize the Orc War Drum and escape the orcs, then returned to the human team as a large orc force surrounded them. Eddie Grand Knight Commander ordered the team to form a defensive formation and hold out until reinforcements arrived.

  • Abel used the Shadow Cloak to blind the orcs and sent Dragon Might at four direwolves, opening a gap in their defense.
  • Abel stored the Orc War Drum and two bone hammers in a Bone Space Item, then escaped on the Direwolf King.
  • Abel returned to the human team and confirmed to Eddie Grand Knight Commander that he had brought back the Orc War Drum.
  • A horn sounded and the ground trembled as a large orc force approached, so Eddie Grand Knight Commander ordered the team to defend in all directions.
  • Eddie Grand Knight Commander told the team that Miracle Spirit had sent reinforcements, which would arrive in five minutes.

Ch. 631Lure Away

Abel rode out to harass the approaching orcs, but a ten-thousand-strong Wolf Rider corps turned its attack toward him and pursued him with powerful skeletons and Orc Priests. He led the force away from the human squad while firing arrows, but the encirclement left him unable to escape.

  • Abel asked Grand Knight Commander Eddie for permission to attack the orcs, then rode out on the Direwolf King.
  • A Great Wolf Rider Commander spotted the Direwolf King, and the Wolf Rider corps split into three groups to surround Abel.
  • Abel retreated while firing arrows at the pursuing skeletons, but their strength and resistance made them difficult to stop.
  • An Orc Priest in a gray robe pursued Abel behind bone shields and a clay shell, so Abel shifted his aim to ordinary Wolf Riders.
  • Abel led the Wolf Riders away from the human squad, but Green Falcon watched from above and the encirclement kept him from escaping.

Ch. 632Fallen into the Trap

Abel fell into an Orc Priest trap and survived a barrage of Corpse Explosions and Poison Burst by using his defenses and a Full Vitality Potion. While the Orc Priests searched the dust cloud, he secretly poisoned the mist and prepared to turn their trap against them.

  • Abel realized the Wolf Riders had lured him into a three-hundred-meter encirclement of Orc Priests and corpses.
  • The Orc Priests detonated the corpses around Abel with Corpse Explosion and filled the encirclement with Poison Mist, forcing him to recall the injured Direwolf King.
  • Abel survived the blasts with his shield, defensive items, Poison Resistance, and a Full Vitality Potion, then vanished beneath the Cloak of Invisibility.
  • The gray-robed Orc Priest sent five thousand Wolf Riders to delay human reinforcements and ordered skeletons, then the Orc Priests, to search for Abel.
  • Abel scattered a blue-quality poison into the Poison Mist as the gray-robed Orc Priest led the search deeper into the cloud.

Ch. 633Revenge

Abel poisoned the priests, killed the gray-robed priest with Space Power, and then teleported into the Wolf Riders’ formation to launch a sudden assault. He continued attacking the crowded riders with Frost Nova and Fireball as Black Wind struck down a wounded Great Wolf Rider Commander.

  • The gray-robed priest and the other priests were poisoned by the mist, and the gray-robed priest’s antidote barely helped.
  • Abel used Space Power to destroy the gray-robed priest’s defenses and behead him, then took a bone fragment and destroyed the priest’s Bone Staff.
  • Abel released Black Wind and used Teleportation to move invisibly into the middle of the Wolf Riders.
  • Abel unleashed Frost Nova and Fireball on the packed Wolf Riders, killing many and gravely wounding a Great Wolf Rider Commander.
  • Black Wind tore open the wounded commander’s throat while Abel continued attacking the riders.

Ch. 634Leaving

Abel escaped the Wolf Rider regiment on Black Wind after using poison to incapacitate the wolf-clan priests, whose deaths devastated their commander. He later found human reinforcements winning a battle against the Wolf Riders and chose to leave the fighting to the knights.

  • Abel broke through the Wolf Riders’ formation on Black Wind and escaped, then sent Black Wind into the spatial beast ring and continued on the Direwolf King.
  • The Wolf Rider commander found the twenty priests incapacitated in the poisoned area, including a gray-robed priest who had been decapitated.
  • The commander watched the priests’ skeletons collapse, ordered their remains burned, and suffered a grievous shock.
  • Abel heard fighting nearby and rode toward it, where he saw a thousand human knights and Sorceresses overpowering the Wolf Riders.
  • Abel stayed out of the battle so the human knights could earn battle achievements against the five thousand Wolf Riders.

Ch. 635Return to the Ranks

Abel rejoined the human forces after helping drive off the Wolf Riders, and the knights welcomed him back. As the force withdrew toward Miracle City, the team settled in for the night while considering the threat of further orc attacks.

  • The Wolf Riders fled after a horn sounded, and Grand Knight Commander Eddie ordered the human forces to stop pursuing them and gather the battlefield spoils.
  • Four Intermediate Wizards surrounded Abel when he approached the battle array, but Wizard Caulder recognized him and confirmed that he was one of their wizards.
  • Grand Knight Commander Eddie and the hunting mission members welcomed Abel back and thanked him for luring away the orcs.
  • Abel explained that the wolf clan might have targeted him because he had killed a Great Wolf Rider Commander and taken his Direwolf King, while K3003 warned that the danger could continue.
  • Intermediate Wizard Caulder directed the force to withdraw, and Grand Knight Commander Eddie led the team to a hillside camp for the night.

Ch. 636Parting for Now

Abel left Grand Knight Commander Eddie’s team to draw the orcs’ attention away from his companions and hunt alone. He departed on the Direwolf King after arranging protections for the team and learning that using High Wizard-level items would disqualify him from the Orc Battlefield mission.

  • Abel asked Grand Knight Commander Eddie to let him act alone because the orcs would keep targeting his team while he stayed with them.
  • Grand Knight Commander Bodley and K3305 offered to accompany Abel, but Abel asked them to remain and protect K3308 with Grand Knight Commander Markham.
  • Abel lent Grand Knight Commander Markham a Knight Greatsword and magic shield and asked K3305 and K3308 to return his passive defensive magic items after the mission.
  • Grand Knight Commander Eddie warned Abel that using an item with High Wizard-level combat power would disqualify him from the Orc Battlefield mission.
  • Abel saluted Grand Knight Commander Eddie and left the team on the Direwolf King, while Eddie and the others reflected on Abel’s friendship and help.

Ch. 637Restraint, Green Falcon

Abel hid inside an Isolation Array and claimed the Orc War Drum, discovering how its curse worked. As he tested it on the Green Falcon, the squad heard the drum and spotted the bird overhead.

  • Abel drew the Green Falcon away from the squad while the orcs tracked him with Sky Eye.
  • Abel concealed himself inside an Isolation Array and removed the Orc War Drum, inspecting its bones and death qi.
  • Abel erased the drum’s ownership imprint and learned how to use it, while the Orc Priest sensed the imprint’s destruction.
  • Abel examined the drumsticks and tested the drum’s strength before choosing the Green Falcon as his target.
  • Abel struck the Orc War Drum, and the squad heard its sound as Grand Knight Commander Bodley pointed out the Green Falcon.

Ch. 638Bone Armor

Abel killed Green Falcon with the Orc War Drum, then looted a gray-robed Orc Priest’s Space Finger Bone and learned the Bone Armor spell. He successfully summoned three protective bone shields and prepared to use the spell in the Dark World.

  • Abel used the Orc War Drum to curse Green Falcon until it fell from the sky, while Orc Sky Eye died from the backlash.
  • Abel put away the drum and judged its strength, realizing it could weaken groups of orcs and kill Green Falcons.
  • Abel searched the gray-robed priest’s Space Finger Bone and found Skeleton Gems, poison supplies, and a Human Skin Book.
  • Abel discovered the Bone Armor Spell Pattern in the book and decided he could safely use the spell only in the Dark World.
  • Abel drew the Spell Pattern, supplied it with death qi from his Druidic sub-soul, and summoned three bone shields around himself.

Ch. 639Clay Golem

Abel learned the Clay Golem spell from the Human Skin Book and summoned a golem, then spent a day deciphering an ancient chest patterned like the War Fortress. After recovering from the strain, he activated the correct Pattern line to open it.

  • Abel found the Clay Golem Spell Pattern in the Human Skin Book and summoned a Clay Golem whose special ability was to slow opponents.
  • Abel decided to raise the spell's level by repeatedly summoning golems rather than spending Soul Potions before obtaining the Dominating Golem spell.
  • Abel discovered an ancient chest bearing Patterns from the War Fortress era and failed to open it with his Steel sword.
  • Abel devoted the day to calculating the chest's cipher Patterns, while the Orcs failed to find his trail during his rest inside an Isolation Array.
  • Abel drank a Satiety Potion to recover from the strain, then activated the Pattern line that opened the chest.

Ch. 640Identity Token

Abel opened an ancient box and found an Identification Token that marked him as a guardian commander and mapped an ancient base in the Orc Empire. When the ten-orc team tracked him down, Abel summoned eight Ghost Guardian Knights, leaving the orcs facing an unexpected force.

  • Abel decoded the box’s patterns, opened it, and found an ancient Identification Token with a map to a base deep in the Orc Empire.
  • Abel bound the token to himself and stored it and the large-capacity spatial finger bone.
  • A ten-orc team of Great Wolf Rider Commanders, bear-men, and Intermediate Priests tracked Abel to his hiding place.
  • Abel tried to blind the orcs with Shadow Cloak, but they dispelled it with bone beads and used Teeth spells to locate his Isolation Array.
  • Abel opened a spatial portal, summoned eight Ghost Guardian Knights, and dismissed the Isolation Array.
  • The orcs saw the eight knights and a sorceress before them, and the priests recognized something familiar in the knights’ auras.
