Horses Trample Sakura

Osaka City!

The Jieko Group's forces swept into the city in a mighty tide. There were not many Sakura Country citizens left in the city, and many had gone into hiding in the countryside, too afraid to return.

Even so, Osaka City still had a population of over a million.

When the Jieko Group entered Osaka City, the expected resistance was pitifully scarce.

Sakura Country had originally stationed around ten thousand Self-Defense Forces soldiers inside Osaka City. They were there to protect the city and prevent sea monsters from landing again and attacking this important urban center.

Besides that, Sakura Country had actively recruited militias locally in Osaka City, selecting some young and physically strong men from among the civilians.

These militias were poorly equipped, carrying only light weapons. Their purpose was to make up for the Self-Defense Forces' shortage of manpower.

After all, Sakura Country's Self-Defense Forces numbered only a little over three hundred thousand, with barely over a hundred thousand in the army. The army had suffered enormous losses in the sea monsters' attacks. Relying on the Self-Defense Forces to protect over a hundred million citizens was far from enough; they had to depend on civilian conscription to accomplish that.

However, the sea-monster landing Sakura Country had prepared for never came. What arrived in Osaka City instead was the Jieko Group's fleet.

After the six Sakura Country warships at sea were dealt with, Sakura Country's army Self-Defense Forces were also struck by the sea-launched missiles fired by the Jieko Group.

Cruise missiles bored into the military camps Sakura Country had stationed in Osaka City. The fire and thunder of their explosions shook the entire city.

Many Sakura Country Self-Defense Forces soldiers had no idea what was happening before the missiles blasted them into mangled corpses, throwing their units
