Background / History

Jieko Company began expanding around Mande City through insect-catching and insect-farming operations. Its early growth was financed alongside Su Jie's Tianyuan Home Furnishings business, while Liu Yingying managed operational expansion. 44

The company established Jieko Security to defend its farms, employees, and interests. By the time of the Mande conflict, it had built local support through employment and welfare; residents credited the company with paying for medical care, schooling, and stable livelihoods. 46

After annihilating the Mande United Army and publicly executing warlord Lu Wenbo, Jieko became Mande Region's de facto ruling power. It cooperated with the city government while making local officials answer to Liu Yingying. 50
