The atmosphere in this magnificent resting place for eternal souls was exceptionally somber.
The Soulbinders had gathered together, and the meeting hall was filled with solemnity.
The reason was simple, yet somewhat strange.
It was not because the Orthodox Horde of orcs was massing forces along the borders of Nagrand and Gorgrond, ready to invade Talador at any moment. Though that had always been a major problem, the Draenei still had considerable confidence in their defenses.
What concerned the Soulbinders now was an internal matter within their people: the Lightforged Judgement Army.
The latest news was that Yrel, the supreme archbishop of the Lightforged Judgement Army, had personally led a large force into Talador and stationed them in Shattrath City, not far from Auchindoun. Two Holy Light Naaru had accompanied her.
Soon afterward, a religious purge swept through all of Shattrath City. The Lightforged Judgement Army kept proclaiming that The Holy Light bestowed grace upon everyone, yet they were also doing things that were anything but holy.
They forced every Draenei to believe in the Holy Light, accept its infusion, become sacred warriors, and fight for so-called justice.
The Soulbinders in Shattrath City received special attention. Archbishop Yrel placed every Soulbinder who had failed to escape under house arrest and demanded that they abandon Shadow Power. From then on, they could only cultivate the holy and discipline specializations.
Everyone knew that Soulbinders were exceptional high-ranking priests. They mastered two branches, sometimes even all branches, wielding the powers of holy, discipline, and shadow with ease. They also possessed a complete system of soul spells, something ordinary priests did not have.
But now, the Lightforged Judgement Army had completely forbidden the use of shadow spells and declared that it would further regulate and restrict soul magic.
