Huaming District, north.
This was the direction farthest from the entrance to the Spirit Fiend Abyss, which was about to open.
According to the Longyao City Detection Department's calculations, the entrance to the Spirit Fiend Abyss would open southeast of Huaming District. The east and south of Huaming District were closest to the entrance, followed by the west, while the north was the farthest away.
Moreover, the north bordered Longyao City's frontier. Even if Phantoms broke through the defenses there, they would ultimately leave Longyao City and enter the Hazard Zone in the wilderness, posing the least threat to the urban area of Longyao City. As a result, the defensive line established in Huaming District was shifted somewhat toward the north, while the key defenses were concentrated in the east and south.
If Huaming District had not been farther from Longyao City's border than the areas directly adjacent to it, with several more districts and even multiple highways leading from its northern side to urban areas in other directions and threatening the civilians there, no defensive line would have been established here at all.
Even with a defensive line in place, this was the safest of the many defensive lines. It was farthest from the entrance and had the smallest population, so the Phantoms drawn here by the "blood food" would be far fewer than those drawn to the other directions.
The defensive line chosen by Su Ming's group of six was in this direction.
After registering for the mission, the six of them climbed into an off-road vehicle and sped all the way there, arriving at their destination before three in the afternoon.
A camp had already been built there. A large area in front of it had been cleared, leaving behind only a few buildings to serve as
