Wuyuan Xuzhu silently watched its Beast Tamer.
Mikala waited quietly, without rushing it.
After a dozen or so seconds, Wuyuan Xuzhu finally called out:
"Wuwu."
There's nothing I need your help with.
Its words were a refusal, but its tone sounded slightly stiff.
Hearing this, Mikala actually felt relieved. Based on what she knew of Wuyuanwang, if her apology had truly left it unmoved, it would have said, "What do my affairs have to do with you?" and thrown her out, rather than saying this.
To her, those words sounded as though Wuyuanwang didn't need help right now, but that didn't mean it wouldn't need help in the future.
Mikala opened her mouth. Just as she was about to say, "If there's anything you want to do in the future, just tell me. I'll help," Penga Mei beat her to it and called out:
"Peng Peng."
If you want to get on good terms with Shalala, our Beast Tamer can help.
Mikala immediately swallowed the words she had been about to say.
Wuyuanwang looked at Penga Mei and called out:
"Wuwu."
I can get on good terms with Shalala myself. I don't need help.
This time, its tone was no longer so stiff.
"Peng Peng."
"Peng Peng."
Penga Mei called twice with an exceptionally composed expression, indicating that it could more or less guess what Wuyuanwang was thinking. It wanted to use Shalala to make a connection with the Tenth Seat and then improve its standing in the Beast Tamer Alliance. What it didn't know, however, was that the one it needed to get on good terms with wasn't Shalala, but Shalala's Beast Tamer—Qiao Sang, their Beast Tamer's student.
Wuyuanwang frowned.
It didn't think a human could be more important than Shalala, even if that human was Shalala's Beast Tamer.
