"You're really that confident about letting me in?" Kaitles asked, somewhat surprised.
Are children these days all this innocent?
Xiao Jin turned and glanced at him. "This house can't stop you."
"And if I'm not mistaken, you already came here last night."
Kaitles raised an eyebrow. "Quite perceptive."
Xiao Jin shrugged. Like a little adult, he led him inside, then invited him to sit down.
"What would you like to drink?"
Kaitles sat on the sofa, watching his every move with great interest.
"A cup of coffee."
He had heard that coffee was bitter but delicious. He wanted to try it.
Xiao Jin shook his head very politely. "Sorry, we don't have any coffee at home."
"Then what do you have?"
"Coffee, soft drinks, alcohol, iced water, and ice cream—we don't have any of those at home."
Xiao Jin didn't look embarrassed in the slightest.
"They're bad for Mommy's health. The doctor won't let her have them, so your only choices are tea, hot water, or milk."
"..." Then why had he asked what Kaitles wanted to drink?
Kaitles suspected that he was teasing him.
"Green Tea is pretty good. Why don't you try it?" Xiao Jin pointed at the complete tea set on the table.
"You like drinking it?"
As he asked, Kaitles reached out curiously and touched the celadon teapot. He then picked up a small celadon teacup and examined it.
He had seen this sort of thing before. He seemed to have even collected a set.
His set was made of a different material, though, and the craftsmanship seemed better, too.
He had tasted this tea before as well, but hadn't found it particularly good.
It was just a few leaves tossed into a pot of water. What could possibly be so delicious about it?
