Su Ya Ni had been staring blankly at the pitch-black bed sheets and pillows, which seemed to give off a strange greasy smell. When she heard Mother Wu's exaggerated voice, she quickly stood up to support her.

"Go inside and lie down for a while. Leave these things to me."

"Ah, I'm getting old. I can't keep refusing to admit defeat."

Just before entering the room, Mother Wu seemed to remember something. She turned around and instructed, "When you have time later, sweep the courtyard a few times too. Just sweep it casually; you don't have to be too thorough."

"Oh."

Su Ya Ni's gaze fell on the weeds and trash scattered throughout the courtyard.

Three families had lived in this courtyard before, but they had always swept only in front of their own doors, each taking care of the area outside their own room.

The couple in the east room had moved away only a few days ago. The landlord had swept some of the trash from inside their room into the courtyard, but hadn't gotten around to cleaning it up yet.

On top of that, the Wu Family had only moved in a few days ago. The men had dug up the weeds in front of the room with hoes, and after being exposed to the sun, they had all withered into dead grass. Once the wind blew, it scattered everywhere.

The entire courtyard was now covered in trash and weeds. It was filthy and chaotic.

If she really cleaned it all up, it would probably take a great deal of time and effort.

For Su Ya Ni, who had never done much work before, washing that large basin of clothes had already exhausted her. If she added cleaning the courtyard, she didn't know whether she would pass
