A Day Off

The laptop keyboard finally broke under the Mountain Lord's high-frequency typing. (There had been another keyboard before, but it was left back in my hometown.)

Actually, the Ctrl key had started acting up a few days ago, but the Mountain Lord figured it was still usable, so he didn't replace it.

Today, I bought an electrostatic capacitive keyboard on JD.com, thinking I could hold out for a few more days... But then a whole bunch of keys stopped working. I'd press them, and they wouldn't spring back up!

I was wondering why my typing speed had plummeted. Turns out my bread-and-butter tool had broken!

Of course, the hiatus was also partly because I was stuck on the story.

I squeezed out a chapter yesterday, but I didn't feel it was particularly satisfactory.

The main issue was that I hadn't worked out the order in which certain things should happen, including Shen Zhui's reincarnation, King Zhao, Yang An, and Xia Wudao.

There were also the foreshadowing details scattered throughout the previous three million-plus words: which ones needed to be mentioned and filled in, and which ones everyone had long since forgotten and didn't need to be written about... The Mountain Lord had to go back and look through all of it himself. It was both physical work and mental work.

In the time it took this book to reach three million words, the number of times it had gone on hiatus could be counted on one hand. Long-time readers all knew that.

Everyone only had to look at the book page's record of 202 consecutive days of updates to know.

But after today, that record was going to disappear...
