First, they blocked the passage with boulders, then used chevaux de frise to maim the beast herds, and finally followed up with a combination of tripwires and rope nets. This one-two-three combination immediately took down a great many beasts.

Countless alpacas, antlered deer, wild donkeys, and even yaks collapsed amid the chaos, only to be trampled or crushed to death by the herds surging in behind them. Yet after paying a tremendous price in casualties, the herds still broke through, successfully opening a passage south.

The Cannibal Tribe's hunting army had never expected to stop all the herds completely. They were purely out hunting, after all. The thunderous roar of the herds galloping through the valley continued for nearly half an hour before they had all passed through. After working for half a day, they finally brought silence back to the entire valley.
