Before vulcanization, its components became as hard as plastic at temperatures below sixty degrees, so the key difficulty was lowering the temperature during vulcanization. That way, the components could maintain their shape through their own properties.

Thus, at Luo Chong's suggestion, the research team changed the original vulcanization method to fumigation with vulcanizing gas. By separating the heating chamber from the vulcanization chamber, they solved the problem of excessive temperatures in the vulcanization chamber. They connected the two chambers with a pipe, then added a hollow wooden insulating panel between them.

After this process adjustment, along with repeated experiments, the research team finally produced qualified sealing rubber components two days later. At the same time, they solved the last remaining difficulty with the Acetylene Gas Lamp.

A week later, the lamp components delivered from the various factories were gathered at the laboratory and assembly began.
