Accumulating Strength for a Breakthrough

In late August, after finishing everything concerning Morning Star Lighthouse, Luo Chong immediately took his wife and children home. He still had plenty to do next: design new coastal lighthouses, new seafaring vessels, and specialized fishing boats better suited to fishing at sea. But all of that involved drawing blueprints, so there was no need for him to remain in Weishan Commandery. Returning home now would also let him make plans for the new house.

The family quickly returned to Hanyang Commandery by carriage. On the day he arrived home, Luo Chong ordered the Metallurgy Workshop in Hanyang City to be dismantled. That plot of land would become the site of his new home. Although it was not especially large, it was more than enough for a villa with its own courtyard.

Well, he was the chieftain of such a large tribe. Living in a villa was hardly excessive. It was not as though he were building a palace, so it could not be considered wasteful of the people's labor and wealth.

Luo Chong did not need to personally oversee the demolition and relocation of the Metallurgy Workshop. He merely signed several orders, distributing the existing ironworking equipment among three counties under Hanyang Commandery and having them establish their own blacksmith shops.

As for the equipment related to casting molds, it was transported to Xingang Commandery to make use of its remaining value. The bricks and timber salvaged from the demolished buildings were put to good use as well. The old bricks were kept for constructing the new house, saving them the trouble of firing more bricks, while the timber was sent directly to the nearby Wood Processing Plant. Anything usable would be used—even if that meant sawing the beams apart to make several tables.
